Exciting news!! We have a new National Fundraiser for the Fall! SCOUT COFFEE... This fall, Scouts Canada will be providing a new contact-less ONLINE fundraiser called ‘Scout Coffee’ in partnership with Equator Coffee Roasters. Equator will provide our supporters with fair trade, organic coffee that is roasted right here in Canada. All orders placed via the Scout Coffee website will be shipped directly to the customers. The Scout Coffee fundraiser will run from Monday, October 12, 2020, to Sunday, November 15, 2020, and Groups can expect a 35% profit on every order with over 5% of all sales directly supporting the No One Left Behind fund providing opportunities for more youth to start Scouting in January 2021. Stay tuned as more information about the fundraiser will be shared by us and through participating Groups in a timely manner.

BONUS CHALLENGE!!!!! We hope that everyone has enjoyed the Scouts@Home 5 Day Challenge to Create, Experience and Explore! We decided to add a bonus challenge to round out all the fun we’ve been having seeing all the results from the other challenges! The Getty Museum has issued a challenge to anyone who would like to participate, in recreating works of art with everyday items in your very own home! So we are now asking our 1st Coldwater Scouts to do the same! Have a look ...online at some great works of art and see if you can recreate one that you like with everyday items in your very own home! Be creative, be inventive, and most importantly, have fun!!! Here’s a link to help give you some ideas: https://www.sadanduseless.com/recreated-art/ When you’ve completed the challenge, show us the original and your recreation side by side! Scouter Sonja is super excited for this challenge and can’t wait to see what you come up with! She will even be posting her very own recreation! See more

Day 5 Challenge!!! **********ALL SECTIONS CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!!!********** Today’s challenge is for all sections! Build us your best campsite! Even though we have to stay home, that doesn’t mean that we can’t have some camping fun! Build the most epic blanket fort, pitch a tent, create a shelter with a tarp inside the house and sleep in it for the night! Your family may even want to join in on the fun by sleeping at the campsite, sitting around a campfire (of red Christmas ...lights) and indulging in some s’mores and singing campfire songs! (Links added below). There’s no end to the creative fun you can have! Don’t forget to send a video or some pictures of the campsite you’ve created! Enjoy everyone, and stay tuned for a BONUS challenge for tomorrow! S’mores link: https://butterwithasideofbread.com/smores-in-oven/ Campfire songs: https://coolofthewild.com/campfire-songs/

Here is Day 4 of the challenge! Day 4: Beavers Science! Today we are challenging you to create or complete a simple science project! Depending on the science project you pick, it may take some time to finish this challenge, but that’s ok. Pick your project, write your hypothesis (ask mom and dad what that is, or look it up yourself), record your results and then report back on if your hypothesis was correct or not. If your hypothesis was spot on, congratulations! If n...ot, try to find out why. Feel free to experiment again and again! I’ve listed below a few suggestions. You’re welcome to try the experiments listed, or find one that interests you! Remember, to have fun and report back your findings! https://youtu.be/BjHqeh4ZuyA https://www.science-sparks.com/pine-cone-weather-station/ Cubs- Science!
