As many of you may know, I write an article each month which forms our monthly 1 Stop HR Newsletter - The HR Connection. I thought I would share this month's article here today. Wowwhat a difference a month makes When I sat down to write this month’s newsletter article, I didn’t have to spend much time thinking about a topic to write about. In these last few weeks, there have been some really long days being an HR Consulting Business Owner. I have felt such a range of em...otions. One moment I am feeling sad for my clients who have had to - for the first time since owning their small/medium sized business contemplate a lay off. The next moment I am happy to see other businesses doing so well in a time where many are struggling. What a rollercoaster. I must say though, that I cannot say enough positive things about these businesses and I know that they are not unique to my client base. I am proud. I am proud of business owners who truly are pulling out all the stops to try and keep people safe and working as long as they can to avoid a layoff I am proud of businesses who have donated supplies to health industries in need I am proud of businesses who have adapted their business such that they can produce a product usable for the health care industry I am proud of businesses and how quickly they have responded to this situation and how quickly they are adapting to each additional change I am proud of businesses and how they are treating their staff and how they are coming up with ideas to further support them I am proud of employees and how they are adapting to a new normal - whatever that new normal may be I am proud of employees and how they are working hard to be upbeat and supportive As businesses owners and for employees, it is an extremely trying time. These are very emotional times. But these are also times where we all need to continue to work together to support each other in whatever way we can. Whether you are a business owner or an employee, do what you can to continue to be supportive. Do what is right and make yourself and others around you proud. Don’t be afraid to reach out for help.
