4 years ago, I used to drink diet Coke instead of water; cause I thought it was as healthy as water, but at least it tasted good. 1 year later, my liver enzymes were so high, my MD asked me if I had a problem with alcohol (I don't drink...). I stopped artificial sweeteners altogether, and now my enzymes are back to normal. This morning, I found this article and I'm like "ok so not only it was destroying my liver, but it was making me diabetic!"... So, in a nutshell: use low GI sweeteners (I like coconut sugar and monk fruit sugar). Or better: don't add sugar to your food :) http://www.webmd.com//2/artificial-sweeteners-blood-sugar
