Alberta Community Peace Officer Provides pictures of transcripts from a Preliminary Hearing after an RCMP Sergeant who is also a Detachment Commander had accused the Peace Officer of being involved in the local drug trade and passing that information to the Director of Law Enforcement Bill Sweeney. This resulted in a Section 19 Investigation under the Peace Officer Act, from the information provided it would appear that this was not done in good faith and was an attempt to ha...ve the Community Peace Officers appointment revoke. This is absolutely wrong, every Community Peace Officer in Alberta should be concerned about this type of action. Currently, if you have been targeted then you have little to no recourse to fight these types of allegations except through your own Human Resources Departement. This has been an issue for many before being maliciously and vexatiously targeted. This is something we need to have changed and fight for. If you don't think this can happen to you think again, it is just that evidence to prove this type of issue is very hard to come by. We need to stand united to stop this type of behaviour against Community Peace Officers. Alberta Peace Officer Professional Association

It is with profound sadness that we give our thoughts and prayers to the family, friends and colleagues of the Edmonton Police Service.

We may not always be popular because of our stance for change within our program. This is one reason why we do what we do! One of our supporters making masks for Peace Officers, this is why even though we get push backs from others we keep pushing forward. Thank you to all those who support us! Stay Safe.

It is extremely saddening the number of Peace Officers who stated they have had similar situations with false allegations or even when following proper procedures and their peace officer appointments and still, they have been penalized for simply doing their duties even when the legislation, policies and procedures state they did nothing wrong? This is ...one of many things that the Alberta Peace Officer Professional Association is fighting for change. Community Peace Officer positions are now seen as a career option and not just a stepping stone for many. We have lost many dedicated and professional officers due to this and they have unfortunately been forced to move on. The dedication that peace officers show for their respective communities and employers, even in adversity but continue on silently performing their duties without hesitation. All who should be commended for there service. We would like to thank you! The Alberta Peace Officer Professional Association
