So what was all the noise about this morning?! These lucky 7 kids entered the Fire Prevention Week poster contest and they each won an individual ride around Town...they got to blast the sirens, honk the horns and flash the lights with Fire Chief Yves! So fun and exciting for the kids (and our Fire Chief ) Check out their awesome artwork - well done, kids ! Remember to always have your smoke alarms working, teach your kids fire safety and have an escape plan!

Notice! Don’t worry when you hear and see the Fire Truck this morning!! Everything is ok! Some lucky kids won rides around town and get to blow the horn & use the sirens!! Story to follow later with photos!

Congratulations Arthur! Arthur is our 3rd and final winner for our "Who Are You Being Safe For?" poster contest! Thank you to everyone who participated and for posting the great artwork - and for caring about community! A huge shout out to our Chamber Members for all the prize donations - these kids will enjoy their gift cards and awesome goodies for a long time!

We sure had an exciting day yesterday first we had our Grand Opening and Naming of the HyLife Back Forty Multi-Use Trail Park, then from there we headed over to the Neepawa Water Plant for another MAJOR announcement for our community! Minister Rochelle Squires was on-hand to announce the Province’s contribution of $2.25 million in provincial funding towards our Water Treatment Plant Reservoir Expansion project! Mayor Blake McCutcheon said Currently, we are able to meet our... demands, but we recognize that our storage capacity is extremely limited and at risk of running out within hours some days; it will be designed in a manner to double our storage capacity and provide us with almost two days of storage in the event of a breakdown or major fire. We are grateful for the province’s support, and credit goes to past Council and our Administration with ensuring this project was shovel-ready. The funding was announced as part of an infrastructure funding increase and the Province has set a completion date for the project of March 31, 2022.

We held an official Grand Opening and name unveiling of the HyLife Back Forty Multi-Use Trail Park today for invited guests (to keep our numbers in line)! We thank HyLife for the generous contribution for naming rights, Minister Squires and the Provincial Government and all our suppliers, supporters and builders that helped make this happen! When we began this dream two years ago, we had no idea what 2020 would bring - a pandemic and a major flood - but we persevered to make a good thing happen! It’s a tremendous addition to our Town, it’s great for all ages, lots of activities, it’s free, it’s year-round and coincidentally - it’s perfect for social distancing! We welcome everyone to our Park!
