Sentencing in Van Horlick Assault Trial Postponed to Nov. 27th, 2020. Sentencing for an Acadieville man who brutally assaulted an RN and LPN in March 2019 at the Dumont Hospital, where his wife was a patient, has been postponed. Presiding Judge, Yvette Finn, will reserve her decision until November 27th. We are disappointed in the delay, especially considering the emotional and mental toll this trial puts on the nurses involved who are seeking some form of closure. However..., NBNU will continue to support our member during every step of the process. We remain hopeful that upon further reflection, Judge Finn will hand down a sentence that brings some sense of justice to these nurses, who were so brutally assaulted while just trying to do their job, said Paula Doucet, NBNU President ___ Prononcé de la sentence au procès de Van Horlick pour agression reporté au 27 novembre 2020 Le prononcé de la sentence d’un homme d’Acadieville qui a violemment agressé une II et une IAA en mars 2019 au CHU Dr George L. We saw just how Registered Nurses step up for New Brunswickers during the global pandemic. But it also served to highlight the unprecedented nursing shortage the province is facing. We’re at a critical stage and ignoring this is not a solution. Registered Nurses need our support.
