Thanks again https://www.londonmaskmakers.com/ for making Anago staff masks that will keep our staff safe and happy while providing services to vulnerable adults and at risk youth! We are very grateful!
Anago is committed to protecting the health of individuals being supported, our staff and community. We know that most of the people we support are extra vulnerable to acquiring COVID - 19 and other viruses too. We have implemented additional practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19, changed or cancelled activities, restricted external contact and visitors to essential services only and reached out to individuals we support living in the community to assist them in practicing safe and healthy activities during this time. We continue to monitor public health information to inform next best steps to contain the virus and protect all.
A very intelligent and thoughtful read on the reality of this on today's youth..."It is unsurprising to me that many girls experience mental health and body image issues suddenly around sexual maturity, considering the amount of cognitive dissonance we must endure to live in a world where re-enacting subservience is presented as our only path to sexual maturity or exploration".
A new poll shows Ontarians believe children and youth should only wait up to two days, or not wait at all, to receive the mental health care they require. This is in sharp contrast to the reality facing Ontario families, many of whom wait up to 2.5 years for child and youth mental health services while others have no access at all to some services where they live. Children’s Mental Health Ontario released the findings of this new Ipsos poll today at Queen’s Park to let government leaders know that our kids can’t wait. #kidscantwait
Happy Valentine's Day!
A new digital tool is helping young people learn about the mental health care system and build a trusting relationship with their health care provider. "Our re...search found that recognizing one another’s humanity is an essential ingredient in reducing stigma, and improving the health care experience for those who are suffering," says Dr. Javeed Sukhera. PLS SHARE! 28,000 kids in Ontario are on a wait list for mental health services. Waitlists have doubled in the last two years and are at an all-time high. This is cruel and unacceptable. Investments from the Ontario government are urgently needed. Tell Health Minister Christine Elliott and Finance Minister Rod Phillips to prioritize child and youth mental health. So many times, people are encouraged to reach out and are told there is power in their story but the reality can be different and leave people feeling more isolated and alone. Be there for people: with words, with respect, with action and with compassion.
Wow! Fabulous news!
