We're so excited to welcome all our amazing Guests back for another fun season, however, we've had to make a tough decision to delay our opening for the 20/21 Winter Season until next Wednesday, November 25 from 5:30-9:30pm. With some challenges from Mother Nature this past week we are still in need of 1-2 days more of Snowmaking and then also need to push the snow & groom it for opening. We feel that this will put a lot of stress on our already hardworking Operations Team. ...Also, with the reduced amount of terrain that we have open this season we want to make sure that we have all runs ready for opening day. By waiting until November 25, we will have all skiable terrain open. We realize that some of our Guests may be disappointed, but this decision was made with the experience of our guests on our first day of the season and the health of our staff as our top priority. The Team from TUNDRA Environmental & Geotechical Drilling has arrived at Nitehawk. Tomorrow they will be starting the borehole drilling program on the Chairlift Line to assess soil composition and ground water levels in and around the landslide area. The data collected will then be analyzed and compiled into a report by our friends at PARKLAND Geotechnical Engineering to be used to determine our best next steps forward. We want to remind Everyone that Nitehawk will be OPEN ...this winter with 3 out of 4 lifts still in operation...despite the chairlift not being available for this Season. We appreciate your support & understanding; and we look forward to continuing to provide outdoor recreation opportunities to the Community this Winter & Year-Round.
