Help Nanaimo Hospice from Home! Together we can help our community heal after experiencing a loss of a loved one through death.... Here at Nanaimo Hospice, we are working hard to set up the modes of support for our community as we face Covid-19. But we can't do it alone. We need your donations to be able to continue on and do the good work that our community needs. Join us on December 1st to support the positive impact that we make in our community: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/m/43676/donation
Our Self Care Clinic volunteers are back! These wonderful ladies took a quick break to pose while the sun shone in the garden for a quick photo. Pictured from Left-Right: Lynn Jetter, Terry Lyons, Margaret Saam, Angela Walmsley and Lynn Lampman.
The Traumatic Loss Support Program is a structured 8-week program for adults who have experienced the loss of a loved one by suicide, violence or drug use. Being with others who have experienced a traumatic loss has been proven to break isolation, offer hope and create long-term networks of support. This program provides a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate environment. Participants will learn about traumatic grief and be given essential grief survival tools to integrate... into their daily lives. Who can participate? The program is open to adults who have experienced the traumatic death of a loved one and are registered Hospice clients. Participants have met with a Hospice counsellor to access the most appropriate services for them and then may be referred to this program. When and where does the group meet? The program is held virtually every 2 months. It typically runs in the evenings. Please call 250-591-8811 to schedule your intake appointment.
To those who fought and died to protect our freedoms, and to those who are serving, we thank you and we remember.
