Most of us don’t. I guess it’s no different than not riding your horse until they are at least 5.
A few more pics that didn't make it to the website.
We just uploaded some of the photos from Training For Courage :: Paul Dufresne clinic. Head over to our site and check them out https://www.2chanceranch.ca
Just a reminder - there WILL NOT be a Training for Courage demo tonight. Auditors are welcome at the clinic Saturday and Sunday 9am-4pm.
With regards to the Training for Courage clinic happening Oct 17-18 - I had a conversation with the Business Manager from the Manitoba Horse Council to clarify what COVID restrictions applied at this time, and she reiterated what had been said in 2 emails that they had sent out... ..."We will reiterate that if an area goes to Code Orange, at this time Sport Manitoba advises that the maximum occupancy and mask wearing protocols do not apply to those actively engaging in athlet...ic or fitness activities. Occupancy should be calculated on the square footage of the area being used and social distancing applied. We consider ‘actively’ to be the operative word, so masks should be worn when not actively riding or coaching. Also, consider that if you are running activities under the auspices of a facility or other organisation, please follow the most stringent of the requirements." Because of the size of the arena we will be in, there can be up to 50 people while social distancing. There won't be that many, but there could be. There will be 10 horses participating (with 13 people) and there are 3 auditors pre-paid. - Participants are not required to wear masks while working with their horses, but will be when the horse is not in hand - during breaks, lunch, etc. - The clinician will not be wearing a mask while instructing. - Auditors should wear their masks at all times. - **** Everyone will have to bring their own masks, lunches, water, tea, coffee, snacks, lawn chair, etc. **** * There will be a welcome station outside or just inside the facility entry points with hand wash or sanitizer for all persons to wash or disinfect their hands. * Everyone will be required to complete and sign the Self-Declaration Form, sign-in, sign-out. * Everyone should maintain physical distance of two meters in all aspects of operations. * All persons should wear a face mask as mandated by current provincial directives and always have a mask ready for use. * We will leave doors open whenever possible, without compromising horse or human safety. * Washrooms will be cleaned frequently. * Everyone should be aware that horses, tack, equipment and clothing can be vectors of COVID-19, so minimize touching stuff that is not yours. * Sanitization supplies will be readily available and easily accessible. We wish you a happy Thanksgiving however you are able to make it happen safely!
Oh the cuteness!

Who else remembers riding on one of these in the mall as a kid?
Very entertaining and indeed a good way to normalize the giving of things via syringe https://youtu.be/TXd4kCKxs00
Happy Mother’s Day!
Happy Easter everyone! We've unfortunately had to cancel the Training For Courage :: Paul Dufresne clinic in May. We hope we have the opportunity to host Paul again soon! While we are all disappointed we have to make healthy choices right now so that things can get back to normal sooner rather than later.
Have a celebration every day! There are so many to choose from and they all have snacks!

This is so great!
This looks like it will be an amazing film! The full length documentary is screening in some locations in the US now so I’m going to add it to my google alerts to see if it will eventually be online to watch in full in the future. I’ll definitely share what I find out!

A great episode from these gals in the Kootenays.
A smile for your Monday morning!
Available for free viewing for a time :) https://youtu.be/UruSVDLqwVc
If the weather has you inside (too cold or too snowy) instead of out with your horses. You might enjoy these 3 videos from Emma Massingale on youtube on how she... starts young horses to get them ready for riding and liberty work and tricks. Her way is VERY laid back and low pressure, balancing bits of higher energy with just 'hanging about' (got to love that accent!) There's lots of ways to train and be with horses so it's great to glean some new things! Even if you aren't starting young ones there are some great overall tips here. Have fun! See more
A reminder to keep your dogs away when deworming and clean up manure afterward
There is nothing truer in this world than the love of a dog.

Some stunning photos and insights in these blog posts. You may have to go back a few posts to get the full picture if you’re new to the story line but it’s real...ly worth your time. What these women are doing is incredible. They are trying to let these horses live as much of a free existence as possible. https://listentoyourhorse.com/merging-the-herds-the-3-lads/ See more

Besides lymphoma... if you feed your pets commercial pet food and wonder why they have vomiting, diarrhea and pancreatitis.... and how is it contributing to all the gut issues in horses (ulcers, dysbiosis, hindgut acidosis....)?
Happy #nationaldayofthehorse
