Going through the first round of this workout, my body was stiffer and things were cracking haha. . . The second round I felt looser and the movements were smoo...ther. . . What is your food Achilles heel? Mine (Nicole) is chips - the salt combined with the crunch; I will eat them mindlessly, my hand dipping into the bag for just one chip at a time; breaking the chip into bite size pieces so I can savour them longer. Holding each piece on my tongue for a second before chewing. And before you know it, half the fucking bag is gone! ... Even more if I pair a glass of wine with my chips . In my single days and knowing my lack of control, I never bought chips during regular grocery shopping trips. But, almost every Friday OR Saturday I stopped at Save-On for a bag of my savoury-love. Knowing my inability to not eat chips if they were in my cupboard, I gave myself permission to eat them one evening/day per week. That made it easy to get through the week without cravings. Now, it’s a different story. I swear my partner loves chips more than me, which means we are never without chips in the pantry . To be honest, I’ve gotten pissed at him for buying so many! Have I fallen off the chip-eating wagon? Hell ya!! Way more regularly than I want to admit. So, my new solution is to put my chips into a small bowl, using it as a guide to help me see how much I’ve munched on. This habit helps me to be more mindful: I can easily see the pile going down, down, down...gone . But that triggers me that it’s time to stop! It’s not always easy, that’s for damn sure but I needed to find some solution that worked for me. What is your food Achilles Heel? I (Lara) did our Killer Legs and Butt #7 workout yesterday and uh...feeling some muscles today It’s so nice not having to go into gyms or rec centres anymore ...- especially in this snow! By focusing 30 minutes entirely on just training the lower body muscles, we’re able to exhaust them faster and create more change/reaction. Once those muscles heal and recover after a day or two, hit them up AGAIN and increase your load (how much weight you are lifting/holding) or add time or more reps for even greater results. Between leading many of our 30-min virtual classes and my own strength workouts, I am seeing great progress in meeting my muscle-building goals. I started lifting weights because I love the look of women like Nicole Wilkins and Kim Constable. In my opinion, these women not only look spectacular, they also show that females can build muscle, looking strong and healthy, while still being very feminine. I was hooked! ... So, while I started my journey for the look, I soon discovered so many other benefits of regular strength training and eating to fuel my workouts I was able to stop taking IBS meds because my digestion stabilized I no longer needed after work naps since my energy levels were so much higher The muscles in my back no longer burned and ached! This was huge as I was in daily pain due to my crooked spine. My confidence grew: I felt comfortable wearing bikinis on the beach or wearing slim-fitting clothes because my belly and thighs were so much leaner. My weight stabilized and I’ve maintained my weight within 5 lbs up or down for more than 10 years. While not every woman wants to see their muscles, EVERY woman should include a minimal level of strength-training exercises into their workout regimen. WHY? Well, for some of the reasons above but also because muscles: Are great for weight loss and helping you keep it off! Help burn fat, helping you drop the belly, thigh and ass fat! Change the shape of your body so clothes fit nicer! How do I do it? I: set goals for myself I create my workouts before I do them I add them to my calendar (just like a hair or nail or eyelash appt ladies!), and then I do the work to reach my goals! I fell in love with the way my body felt after taking my first ever barre class. I felt my posture improve and found deep muscles starting to wake up. ... Not to mention how graceful I felt while doing the moves and I was AMAZED at how the smallest movement created such a HUGE reaction in my body - the barre burn or shakes! I immediately looked at Nicole and said - we need to bring this to our clients! I wanted our clients to have that same feeling that I felt and it’s at that point I knew I wanted to teach barre fitness to others. Over the years, I’ve mastered my craft and here we are now teaching other people how to be fantastic barre instructors. Nicole: My supper after leading our live 30-min fat burner class tonight: 1/4 cup white rice with chives and 1.5 cups garlic shrimp cooked with about 2 Tbsp ga...rlic butter. Eating a small amount of simple carbs like white rice (within an hour of a quality workout) allows my body to burn the carbs (sugars) rather than eating the muscle that I’m building. Food can make or break your fitness goals bottom line. What did you eat for dinner?

Quick story about a lovely lady we know, she’s the sweetest lady you’ll ever meet - we won’t mention her name. . . For all the years we’ve known her we have al...ways seen her dressed to the nines, full set of makeup on, nails on point, beautiful lash extensions, hair always coloured and looking amazing, but she HATED her body. . . It’s like she was covering herself up with all this stuff . . She’s a very successful business woman, has a family and kids, picket white fence, nice car...you get the idea. But she has never been HAPPY. . . She just kept brushing it off . . Unfortunately, her inner turmoil caught up with her and she had a SERIOUS health scare that almost ended her life. . . Talk about a reality check . . She finally decided to take her health serious and SINCE then has never been happier mentally and physically . . She started training with us consistently 3x per week. Her workouts include both strength and cardio: muscle to burned more fat and define her shape, and cardio for the extra fat burn plus a healthier lungs and heart. . . She started to accept and love her body and the positive changes she was seeing. . . Her family is thriving, business has picked up even more and she truly has found the real meaning of success in her life. . . We got this pic yesterday from a beautiful 2G personal training client of ours who has made quite the transformation over these crazy COVID months. Because o...f covid, we started training her in her home 3X week instead of the gym, she invested in some bands, weights and kettlebells. She’s been able to stay very consistent with her clean eating and it’s very rare for her to miss a session. Not to mention the fact that we can exercise and she doesn’t have to worry about childcare! This is the first time she’s been in the 180’s on the scale in years and she feels absolutely fantastic! We keep her goals small and are now working towards 185lb or less by November 30.
