I love coming to work and reviewing the week and clients that I have seen. We recently added a Post treatment evaluation form for our clients to fill out after their massage treatment. It is so important to have constructive feedback and knowing we, as RMT's have addressed our clients needs. Here is one that really made my morning! For my massage I have very specific areas that I needed to be worked on... my neck and feet. Before we will begin the treatment, Silvia & I have... have a brief consultation on what areas she needs to work on with me today. After explaining that my neck was incredibly sore including my jaw and that I had a headache and also my feet were very sore...she proceeded. I was given heat immediately on my feet and eucalyptus oil to clear my head. I love how she always incorporates many different methods during the massage, from the calming music to cupping to my new favourite... Graston tools! They work so well especially on arms hands and feet, in other words all the nooks and crannies that are hard to get to! As far as concerns go the next day or so, Flushing everything out with a lot of water I’m giving myself extra TLC and magic mint oil, is the cure all. I am never disappointed with any massage I have received from Sylvia and I have been going to her for about 15 years now. I will follow her anywhere!! XOX WK See more

Please be aware a referral letter from a Doctor, Chiroproactor, physiotherapist or other regulated health professional is required prior to your massage session as stated below. Joint Statement... by the Canadian Massage and Manual Osteopathic Therapists Association (CMMOTA), the Certified Registered Massage Therapist Association (CRMTA), the Massage Therapist Association of Alberta (MTAA), and the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada Association (NHPC) and supported by the Transitional Council for the College of Massage Therapists of Alberta (TC-CMTA) As per the update provided by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, massage therapists are able to resume immediately providing services under the following guidelines: All clients must have either a written prescription from a Medical Doctor, or a written referral from a regulated health professional (https://www.alberta.ca/regulated-health-professions.aspx) An existing written prescription is only valid if issued within the last 12 months. An existing written referral is only valid if issued within the last 12 months. A copy of the original written prescription or written referral is acceptable. It saddens me to say these words in such a challenging, difficult time! As of Midnight Saturday Dec 12 we are closed for 4 weeks due to the new Government restrictions. This frustrates me to no end! Of the 18 years being a Health Care Giver (RMT) , Clients who may have struggle at work, home , a recession , the one place people always made time for was their one hour massage to escape the madness around them, to heal and recover from an injury or looking forward for some ...me time. Now this is taken away from you and me and Andrea. And ALL RMT's You see we are not regulated! There are too many associations who say they are working with the Government to become regulated, but this has been an ongoing issue since I moved from Ontario in 2002 (where it is a regulated province) and where Alberta is the only province that is not regulated! Yes I am venting! We need to change this, for if we were regulated I guarantee you 100% we would be working! I would not be calling you in the next 24 to 48 hours and cancel your massage appointments and reschedule them for the new year with a possible anticipation of cancelling January as well. Andrea is a compassionate Massage Therapist who strives to help her clients reach their treatment goals, so they can live their lives to the fullest and feel better about themselves-inside and out, one massage treatment at a time.... Andrea was an honor graduate of MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy with a 2200 hour diploma, her main focus on remedial massage. Andrea's offers a Therapeutic approach to every treatment including manual lymphatic drainage, trigger point release, joint play and stretching. Newly added to her skill set is working with Graston Therapy, which uses special instruments to help heal new or old surgical scarring, as well as reducing scar tissue and adhesions in the body. A past high performance athlete herself in cross country skiing and mountain biking at a national level, Andrea also has a passion for working with Athletes of all ages and offers youth massage. Last night at Pottery I learnt how to make plates and bowls and completed my 2Hands1Heart Mugs. I only started taking Pottery in January 2020 and just love the mental break it gives my brain.. And to use my creative side. What do you do decompress? Read a book? Go for long walks? Share please.

Hi everyone! Wow, I just can not believe we are just passing the middle of October and snow is on the ground, before you know it's November then December and a whole new year is upon us. For those of you who have extended health care, such as: blue cross, Sun-life, Canada life, Green Shield ...( those are the most popular ) your year maybe running up..... and you most likely have lots of massages not used, due to us being closed for almost 3 months or so!! . Did you know ...we do direct billing for you? YUP and we're happy to do it ! This is what I recommend you do wherever you go for your massage 1. Pre-book till the end of the year - don't be disappointed when you can not see your FAV RMT. 2. If you have not used direct billing before (offered by your RMT-we do all the work) see if your provider allows it.. even though we direct bill sometimes insurance companies do not allow it, but we can submit on behalf of you and you pay up front. 3. Not all insurance companies pay 100% best you find out how much your insurance company covers for massage, chiropractor and physiotherapy. 4. And when in doubt call us. We are happy to help you out. Our new hours are Monday - Thursday 9am-9pm, Friday and Saturday 9:30-5:30. At this time there are no walk in offered. So best book online or give us a call.
