The Corona virus. Three little words with a big impact. They have drastically changed our world and the way we live our lives, for now. Self-isolation, social distancing - words behind the experiences we’ve never had to practice. It’s our new reality. You may have heard of this phenomenon known as Porch Portraits. As photographers who’ve captured the special memories and milestones of more than 3,000 families in our career, we feel drawn to document this unprecedented time... in the home life of our treasured friends, family and their neighbours. We would love to see you again, from the appropriate distance, camera and lights in hand. All we ask is that you make a donation of a minimum $30 to our Children’s Village at HOPEthiopia. African nations are highly vulnerable to this pandemic. Imagine not being able to go grocery shopping because there are no deliveries. Or, what happens when you can’t get water for your children because the town water station is out. We take so much for granted. A porch is not a prerequisite. Your family can sit on your steps, stand in front of the driveway, sit in chairs etc. Be creative. Remember, ONLY the family members who LIVE in the house are permitted. Here’s how to participate: 1) Pick a quadrant (weather permitting): SW Calgary Quadrant - Thursday, April 23 - 11:00 to 3:00 pm and Friday , April 24th - 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. NW Calgary Quadrant - Monday, April 27th - 11:00 to 3:00 pm and Tuesday, April 28th - 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm 2) Confirm by text or email that you are available. Provide your current address, phone number and email address and indicate that you have made your donation. Link: 3) Be available and ready on the date and between the hours you have requested. We will phone or text when we arrive. We may be able to give you ten minutes notice. The actual session is maximum 10 minutes. 4) You decide your look. Pyjamas, socks, sports jerseys, wearing masks, coordinating clothing...it’s up to you. It’s your pandemic memory. 5) You will receive your images (the best of each pose) via email within one week.
