No peloton will hold Dr. Graham Grabowski back, he is truly a leader in the fight against oral cancer. Cancer has, for far too long, had a negative impact on our society and with his generous support of my 2021 British Columbia Ride to Conquer Cancer we will soon extract it from our lives (see what I did there). The money we raise supports the Dr. Michele Williams Oral Cancer Research and Education Fund at the B.C. Cancer Agency. Please join me and super Graham in taking a bi...te back against oral cancer. #thebcride #theridebc #rideon #conquercancer http://www.conquercancer.ca/goto/JOEL2020 See more

Happy Thanksgiving to the amazing dental teams that work with us at Richmond Endodontic Centre and of course to the team that I am lucky enough to work with!

Endodontics | Slick-Glick - https://mailchi.mp/3ec0dd58b4fa/endodontics-slick-glick These days we are supposed to be apt at socially distancing ourselves in public. With this in mind, it is worth reviewing how we clinically isolate the teeth we are treating endodontically.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone, The 2021 British Columbia Ride to Conquer Cancer will be my tenth year in the Ride. Some have asked me why I continue to ride and hound nice people for money for the Dr. Michele Williams Oral Cancer Research and Education Fund. Like most people, I know of far too many friends, family, colleagues, and patients that have had to fight cancer. However, over the last fortnight, I received three messages that convey, much more efficiently than I can, wh...at my motivation is. The first note is from a salt of the earth lady that, despite my best efforts, had a tooth that could not be saved. She does not know it yet, but neither she nor her husband will ever have to pay for an endo from me ever again. The other two messages are from close colleagues of mine. Cancer is far too bloody awful for me to stop riding and raising funds. You'll Never Walk Alone, Joel

The Slick-Glick I first learned about the Silker-Glickman (S-G) rubber dam clamp (aka Slick-Glick) when I was a grad endo resident in Dallas. Funnily enough, our programme director, Dr. Gerald Glickman, was a most enthusiastic proponent of it. It was certainly invaluable with this Texas-sized defect which obliterated the MB orifice and extended well below the marginal gingiva. Isolation without haeme and salivary contamination was no small endeavour. An asepsis restoration wo...Continue reading
