Dear friends, family and my longtime loyal customers. It is with a lot of heartfelt sadness that I post this statement. I have been rather quiet and inward about my selling and closing of our family business because it has been a very emotional time for myself and my brother Keith. I truly did not expect the outpouring of sadness that you, our long time customers would convey to myself and Keith. I truly did not understand the impact that it would have on our community. The stories that you have shared about your shopping and camping experiences have really had impact on me. After seventy years of business, it is with mixed feelings that we announce that 3 Vets has made the difficult decision to close its doors. The store's founder and WWII veteran, Bill Wolfman, began the business with the idea of ending a shortage of bedding in logging and mining camps in Vancouver, using military surplus supplies. With the help of our wonderful customers, the store has since survived as one of Vancouver’s only family run outdoor stores. It has been an absolu...te pleasure helping all of you with your outdoor needs. We have enjoyed helping you get ready for camping trips, hiking treks, summer camp and other outdoor activities and we loved hearing about your adventures when you returned home. We can’t thank you enough for all the support you have offered us over the years. It’s been an incredible journey watching multiple generations of customers grow up with us! A big thank you to the police officers, firemen, ambulance, film crews and other institutions that have continued coming to us. We are so grateful for all the wonderful vendors we had the opportunity to work with. To our staff, none of this would have been possible without you. Your work and spirit have been a driving force behind this establishment. The longevity of the original vision is a testament to your dedication. We have been so lucky to be a part of the Mount Pleasant community. Getting to know all of our customers has been the most rewarding part of the 3 Vets story. Thank you all, we will miss you. The store will officially be closing in November of 2017.
