Shuswap/North Okanagan: Discover a fun, enjoyable fitness activity for the whole family in 2020. Enjoy a free Open House at 6:30 pm Tuesday January 21 in Canoe.... Try today’s style of square dancing. No pre-registration, just drop in to the hall at the Canoe United Church. Allow for 1 hour. This is a second opportunity with a half hour later start time after the first Open House was weather-affected. It’s a chance to try a wonderful recreation with many benefits: Loads of fun Active living Very social Economical Wide variety of great music All ages, singles welcome Children (under 12 to be chaperoned) Free refreshments served Wonderful shared activity for families Quality together time outside the home for couples Dressy-casual attire No dance experience is necessary The square dance is simply a walking stepno special footwork Clear & patient instruction with lots of review Your caller-teacher/entertainer will be the fun, friendly Jean Wood of Salmon Arm. After the free Open House you’ll want to continue the weekly fun. Same time, same place starting January 28. You’ll be learning a 12 session square dance program that gets you dancing sooner! Register at the door for the lesson period. Enjoy all 12 sessions for just $60/person, discounted to only $100 for a couple. Just $30 for teens ages 13 to 18 and ages 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Nightly drop-ins are welcome at $6 per adult, $10 per couple or $3 per teen.
