PARVOVIRUS!!! We have had 2 more cases of parvovirus in the area in the past week. These cases were not in contact with each other, and one of the dogs was know...n to roam off-leash around Stephenville. Parvovirus can survive in the environment for 7 months, and can even survive longer over the winter. It is HIGHLY contagious and causes SEVERE bloody diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration and often leads to death without treatment. The only way to prevent parvovirus is to VACCINATE. The vaccine is very effective. If your dog has never been vaccinated or is not up to date on their parvovirus vaccine, please call the clinic at 283-3002 to book an appointment ASAP.

Due to Covid-19 our services have changed. Beginning 5:30pm March 25th we will only be open for veterinary services on Wednesdays. We will remain open for appointment scheduling and pet product sales on Monday and Fridays from 11am to 2pm. (This may change as needed during the pandemic). Emergency services will get priority for all appointments, however other appointments will also be available. Our clinic will be closed to people, but not animals. To purchase pet products... you must call when we are open and schedule a pick-up, this may be possible within minutes. You will be instructed upon how to receive your items. For appointments we will be posting information about how these will be carried out on our Facebook page and on the door. When you make an appointment we will also be emailing you these instructions. Animal Surgery and Wellness Centre Due to Covid-19 virus concerns for our clients and our staff we have implemented some immediate changes. 1) We have increased the times between appointments at our clinic to reduce contact between our clients and also give more time to do extensive cleaning between our appointments. We ask that you respect the time allowed, please do not arrive too early or late and do not linger or socialize inside of our clinic. 2) We ask that you no lo...nger use cash for payment. We request debit, credit or E-transfer payments. 3) If you would like to purchase medications, foods or other products then we ask that you contact us in advance to allow the preparation of your items and establish the best time for pick-up. 4) You will be given times for dropping off your animals in the morning for their anesthetic procedures. Please respect the time given. We will be spacing out the arrival times to limit contact with others. 5) If you are not feeling well. Please reschedule or have another person come to our clinic. 6) When arriving to our clinic we ask that you do not bring additional persons into our clinic with you. 7) We do not know for how long we will be able to continue to acquire and distribute products to our clients. We may even be ordered to close. Therefore, if you have a pet that requires medications or foods to maintain a healthy life then we ask that you consider preparing for these possible interruptions of services.
