The Kettlebell Snatch is one of the more technical movements that we use with the Kettlebell. One of the most common faults we see is the Crash of the bell onto the wrist at the top of the movement. This can lead to bruising and pain, and make you want to avoid KB Snatches when it comes up in a workout. Most of the time the fault is caused by a death grip on the bell handle and/or the path at which the kettlebell is traveling overhead. By using a slightly lighter grip on ...the handle will allow for the bell to move around the wrist instead of crashing down hard onto it. To aid in this adjustment, allow your fingers to move upwards through the handle in a punching motion. Along with the lighter grip, focusing on the path of the kettlebell as it reaches chest level, by creating a pulling motion will result in a more efficient transition overhead, and help eliminate the crash. The fixes for this fault will require some practice, but the benefits will make you look forward to KB Snatch day! Check out Coach Hannah's video to work on your technique. See you on the flip side!
