Our last night the USA was in Utica NY
Yesterday it was quite a cool start, 4 degrees and foggy but we were all dressed for it. Once it warmed up the ride was really good. We are all impressed with the roads the TomTom Rider is selecting for us
We left early today from Utica, NY to beat the rain. Of course, we arrived waaaay before check in at Gananoque, so we found a proper pub and contemplated the learnings from our 15-day road trip. On this trip, given we’re not 40 anymore, we regularly invoked what we jokingly called : The Privilege of the Aged. Here’s the top 10 comments we found ourselves making ... can you guess who said what? 9. I don’t have to do 10 if I don’t want to. ... 8. 11 is not too early for lunch and 4:30 is not too early for supper. 7. Ohhh. My Hip hurts, ohh, my arse hurts. 6. We’ve been waiting a long time... Where’s my food !?! (Even though I have no where to be) 5. Damn kids playing hockey in the hallway - we’re tryin’ to sleep! 4. I’ll park where I want. 3. If that waitress doesn’t come by in the next 15 minutes, I’m leaving... Ok, we’re leaving 2. Walk on the beach? I don’t want to get sand in my shoes! 1. I want my cookies- last time I was here there were cookies. (Heard from the Senior’s bus tour)
Another day of riding! Joe was not only excited about the ride ahead but also excited about his new gloves
The great thing about traveling is sometimes you find a jewel in the most unexpected place. In Mansfield, PA we found Yorkholo brewery (pronounced York - hollow). Interesting brews and Mike was very engaging and informative. We had a great time and enjoyed some good beer and food.
