Remembering one of the nicest people you would ever meet. Johnny Wearing was a class act. He was one of those people who can instantly become friends with whomever he would meet. His ties to the Windsor chapter were deep seated with a long history of close friendships, smiles, laughter, and genuineness. We kept this Facebook page up in honour of Johnny and everything he has meant to almost everyone in the district. There are so many memories that came up in the time we have kept this page going, with family and friends a like. That's how Johnny wanted to be remembered - like family! That's how johnny treated his friends, like family. His Pioneer district family. Rest in peace my friend, I hope you are singing up a storm in the heavens. You are missed by everyone.
Our great friend Johnny Wearing singing tenor for 62 years with the Barbershop Harmony Society, and sang in more than 40 quartets, Steppin' Out being his last quartet, passed away peacefully today.. Johnny had amazing friendships with so many people and was known and loved by many across the country. He always had a special spot in his heart for many from the Windsor Chapter. We'd like to say a special thanks to the quartet Boardwalk who on their way to a Guardians of Harmo...ny show from Atlanta, made a special trip to stop in and see Johnny and sing with and for him. Johnny was supposed to sing with Steppin' Out on that show but was unable to because of the progression of his illness. We managed to make it work and we sang our hearts out for him on a beautiful tribute. Thank you Guardians. On behalf of Steppin' Out, all your friends in Windsor and across the district - you were an amazing individual, never to be forgotten my friend. Rest in Peace Johnny! See more
Steppin'Out had the extreme pleasure of singing at the Guardians of Harmony show last night. Great show and even though Johnny couldn't make it out to the show (re: health), we did a very nice tribute to him for all his years of barbershop and friendship. We sang for you Johnny! Thanks to Wayne Oberstabt for stepping in on tenor for Steppin' Out.
Had a good practice at Johnny's yesterday.
More great pics from Johnny's Celebration of his Life. Thanks guys for sharing these with everyone.
More honours to Johnny!
You have had a great and memorable 92-year run Johnny. You have so many friends and done so many amazing things. You always know how to do things in style surrounded by so many of your your friends. Sincerely heartfelt best wishes in your battle with this rotten disease, and I am so sorry I was not there to celebrate with you Johnny. You are an amazing friend, and I love singing with you buddy! Tom
Highlight was being able to sing with Johnny Wearing again. With busy schedules and health, the quartet sang together for the first time in quite a while now. Great evening!
Steppin' Out were all in attendance at Windsor's Send Off Show last night. We got to sing a few together. It was great to see Johnny our amazing tenor back at full strength and singing again.
Here's Johnny! Way to go buddy. We'll be back singing tunes together before you know it.
The boys are wishing Johnny a speedy recovery . We'll be back harmonizing before you know it buddy!

Steppin' Out had an awesome time at convention this weekend in Traverse City,MI. It was so great sing and singing with all of our friends again. First time for this mix on the stage, and for only being together since February we did fairly well. It sure was great to get Johnny our tenor back up on the stage again. We are looking forward to next spring and well be ready to rock the house baby!
Getting ready to sing tonight. Countdown has started.WHOA!
Steppin' Out is ready to fly. Looking forward to being a part of Johnny's return to the stage and our first district competition together. It's going to be an awesome weekend - lots of friends, tons of singing!
