Set of scarce #thonet chairs from Czechoslovakia and Poland ca. 1923, all with labels, some also with stamps (check out the design of that J&J Kohn logo!), all gorgeous turn-of-the-century bentwood. Designed in Germany by Michael Thonet in 1859, these chairs are classic and never go out of style. They were ubiquitous in fin du siècle cafés and bistros in Europe. This set of six has been carefully refinished at some point. These are chairs for sitting, not horsing around (hey you kids!). Petite oak sideboard with barley twist legs, topped with a teak planter with copper insert. This planter was salvaged from a 1950s tear-down. In many houses from that era the front entry was separated from the main room with a built-in shelf that often held plants.
