What do you think about this cooling idea using your rigs AC for your RTT? I started with two three inch sewer connectors used for RV’s and cut them down on the connector side and filed flat. Then I added 3M double sided tape. This fits easily over the A/C vents on the Jeep Vehicles. This does not restrict any air flow but you do lose directional flow through these two vents. Next I attached two RV 20 foot Sewer hoses and ran them out the back sliding glass window and up into... the tent. I did leave the remaining two vents open in the Jeep so that the cabin air would circulate. I opened up the tent, but did not set up any awnings or roof cap. I wanted the sun bearing down on the fabric as much as I could. This was done at 9:15 AM and it was already very muggy. The inside temp quickly climbed to 39 degrees. I started the Jeeps A/C and let it run for 20 minutes. I also put a battery operated fan inside the tent to circulate the air. After 20 minutes the temp dropped to 28 degrees. I laid down inside and with the air circulating I felt fairly comfortable and much much lower humidity! All in all, I felt this little experiment was a success And will be employing it in the future. I also believe that with all the awnings up the temp may have even been a little lower, and if one had shade, even more. See more
