The Water Element predominates our Winter season here in the Northern hemisphere. It is about flow. When we flow as liquid water does then we can find our way past or through resistances we meet on our way. We can reshape ourselves and adapt to the environment we find ourselves in. Sometimes, we also need to go so slow it appears we aren't moving - just as water appears when in its frozen state. But ice expands and contracts even slightly within its environment until it is t...ime to thaw and flow more strongly. These stages of Yin from smaller to greater are not only observed in Winter, but within us when we reflect on our circumstances and experiences. This ever present state of contemplative awareness, of receptivity, of greater or lesser self-awareness in the ebbs and flows of our lives are all necessary teachers. When we explore the currents of what is happening in our lives now - what reflections come to the surface? What can this time give to you? #cac5e #canadianacupressurecollege #fiveelement #nanaimo #vancouverisland #vancouverislandbc #health #wellbeing #inspiration #tao #naturalhealing #integrativehealth #canada #complimentaryhealth #waterelement #acupuncture #acupressure #tcm #worsleyschool #worsleyfiveelements

Breath is vital to our well-being, yet we so often breathe shallowly & only within minimal capacity of our Lungs. Constriction comes from heavy stress and emotions, such as Grief (Fall/Metal element), physical injury, acute or chronic illness. We can open ourselves up to healing once again by starting with taking in Breath a bit more deeply than before. Then, with practice we can gain ever-deepening breaths that sustain our Lung Qi.... Lung meridian the Prime Minister aids the Heart meridian with the flow of oxygen and Blood. Mindful Breathing practices found in Qi Gong, Yoga, Meditation, and Sports support a balanced flow of vital Qi between our Mind and Body. This, in turn, reduces stress & boosts our immune systems. Lung 7 helps open up our Breathing. LU7 also reduces effects of cold wind, tension in head and neck, and eases grief/sadness. #cac5e #canadianacupressurecollege #fiveelement #metalelement #tcm #integrativehealth #holistichealth #acupressure #acupuncture #lung #wellbeing #inspiration #tao #naturalhealing #canada #vancouverisland #nanaimo #vancouverislandbc

We're an Acupressure College with a sense of humor, and history. At the Canadian Acupressure College we use the over 5000 year old study of Qi and meridians and acupuncture points from the rich heritage of Chinese culture, which includes the study of the 5 Elements. The 5 Element wheel brings us deeply into the interconnections of Qi pathways in our bodies, and the ways our bodies heal. ... The generative cycles and the ancestral K'O cycles on the wheel help us to understand our clients' natural physical, emotional, and spiritual rhythms - and where they are imbalanced a session can bring balance. We create acupressure sessions that relax, bringing a balance of Qi though oxygen, bloodflow and circulation to areas that need regulation. So when you have a spike in physical pain in one area, through the 5 Element approach you can discover the links it may have to your emotional and environmental stressors, and by releasing these gently you can harmonize with your Spirit and feel renewed.
