Hi to All, The Cactus K9 Club is hosting our anual Labour Day Weekend Agility Trial on Sept 4, 5, & 6. We have a beautiful venue at Dick Hart Ball Park which is located 20 minutes from downtown Kamloops. It is a beautiful and quiet place to play and stay. We are taking COVID precautions to keep everyone as safe as possible. The site is very large which allows for people and dogs to spread out. We are full for our Friday evening events, but we do still have availability for ...both Saturday and Sunday. Im seeing a trend in Covid-time puppies. They are very triggered by movement. To me this suggests they are not seeing enough. I spend hours a week sitting in ...different places in the real world. Take your own lawn chair and watch traffic. Watch people going in and out of shops. Watch kids playing. They key is to stay long enough until your puppy is bored. Socializing means seeing the world. 5 STAR NEWS! I have had a lot of inquiries about the future of 5 Star. In March, when the public were asked to avoid social groups, classes were put on hold. When it became obvious that this new reality of social distancing was not going away any time soon, it was necessary to end our rental on our downtown indoor centre. We finished moving out at the end of April. Going forward, agility classes will be starting up very soon in an outdoor area that will allow for appropriate distance requirements. Puppy and Basic Manners classes are at this time still on hold and the future of those classes remain unclear. I will post any new news regarding classes here, and on 5 Stars website as it happens.
