Please note that Thamesview FHT is not allowing ‘exhale’ valve masks. Some respirators/masks have exhaust valves which are intended to make it more comfortable for the person wearing it, but also allow infectious respiratory droplets to be released outside the respirator/mask. Use of respirators/masks with exhaust valves will not protect others from COVID-19. Please do not use respirators or masks with exhale valves to prevent the spread COVID-19.
THAMESVIEW FAMILY HEALTH TEAM - POSITION STATEMENT ON MASK EXEMPTIONS
Sick Days: Please do not send children to school if they are ill. Rules around children going to school sick will be strict this year and they should be. Children with Covid -19 can present with mild symptoms and it will be difficult for you to know if this is Covid-19 or a regular cough/cold.... Familiarize yourself with your school board’s policy on student illness and requirements prior to returning. Contact your health care provider if you have concerns. Please be kind to your school staff and educators. There will be many changes for everyone. Be patient and try to have an open dialogue with staff to ensure a safe and healthy return for your kids. Everyone is going to be learning together, and we must act as the role models we want our children to emulate.
