Time travel with our Research Library with Modern Wonder Mondays! Model Airplanes was a serious sport in 1939, attracting thousands of enthusiasts and interest from the RAF and engineering competitions.

Effective December 13, 2020, The Alberta Aviation Museum and its event facility will be closed to the public in accordance with the mandatory lockdown set forth by the Alberta Government and Alberta Health Services. The museum recognizes the necessity of this move to protect those most vulnerable and the integrity of our hospitals and healthcare supports amidst 2nd wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to stay current on the ongoing developments and public recomme...ndations from Alberta Health. As a team, we will review the status of the situation on January 9th to determine next steps and the feasibility of re-implementing former levels of operating capacity We are confident that if we all play our part, we will resume operations in the coming weeks. In the meantime, there are many ways patrons can continue to support the museum during the holidays, whether it be the online purchase of a gift museum membership, or a year-end donation. This will help allow us to continue to celebrate Alberta’s rich aviation history when we are able to meet again.
