#TIPTUESDAY Is your door or window sticking? It could be because you have a torn gasket, which is allowing water to seep in and can freeze during the winter. Inspect your weather stripping and replace any damaged pieces. Sidenote: you can also apply a silicone spray to lubricate the rubber to prevent it from freezing.... #911auto #wevegotyourback #trustedmechanic #cartip #tuesdaytip #autoadvice #winterdriving #hamont #hamiltonontario #hamiltonont #crownpoint

Although it only takes about half an ounce of gasoline to start most car engines, you should avoid letting your gas tank get too empty, which can cause fuel lines to freeze and result in poor performance. Too little gas in the tank can also cause debris to get sucked into your fuel system and cause further issues. Our advice: keep it at least 1/4 full (especially during the winter!). #gasoline #gastank #fuelsystem #fuel #driving #car #911auto #hamiltonmechanic #hamont #hamiltonontario #hamiltonont #carfact #funfact #fridayfact #factfriday

#TIP TUESDAY Always keep an emergency kit in your vehicle. Whether you run out of fuel, puncture a tire, or slip off a snowy road, it canhelp you get back on the road safely andquickly. In addition to a full tank of gas you should have the following items with you at alltimes:... * Blankets, mittens, socks andhats * Ice scraper and snowbrush * Flashlight, plus extra batteries * Jumpercables * First-aid kit * Bottledwater * Multi-tool(such as a Swiss Armyknife) * Road flares orreflective warningtriangles * Windshieldcleaner Keeping acell phoneon hand is highly advised. Make sure your phone is charged every time you get in the car and keep a spare cell phone charger and a rechargeablebattery packin your emergency kit aswell. #911auto #cartiptuesday #cartip #emergencykit #caradvice #winterdriving #safetyfirst #safedriving #hamont #hamiltonontario #hamiltonont

#TIPTUESDAY All-wheel drive can boost confidence when accelerating, but it doesn’t help when braking or turning. Winter tires are A MUST in areas where the temperature regularly drops below 45 degrees. They are more capable of staying flexible at low temperatures and improve traction when trying to stop and turn on cold pavement. #911auto #911automotive #wintertires #winterdriving #hamont #hamiltonont #hamiltonontario #hamiltonmechanic #cartip

This customer was concerned about some clicking and clanking noises coming from the rear left passenger side of their Honda Civic. The truth is, the brakes and rotors were due for a change. It is recommended that brake rotors should be replaced every 70,000 miles, but the need really depends largely on style of driving and how often the vehicle is used.
