Just for the record. No question that the ethnic mix on New Westminster City Council is new, but the gender balance is not. From 1989 to 1993, there were 3 women councillors (Yvonne Cocke, Kathy Cherris, Helen Sparkes) under a woman mayor (Betty Toporowski. From 1994 to 1996, there were 4 women councillors (Kathy Cherris, Lynda Fletcher-Gordon, Charmaine Murray, Helen Sparkes) under a woman mayor (Betty Toporowski). From 1989 to 1993, New West’s MP (Dawn Black), MLA (Anita Hagen) and Mayor were all women.

Last night's Halloween Cemetery Tour was a big success!
