2019 OAAG AWARDS: The winner for monographic exhibition of the year is "One of These Things is Not Like the Other," solo exhibition of the work of Pamila Matharu with Sister Co-Resister, curated by Vicky Moufawad-Paul at A Space Gallery. Using discarded videotapes from the archives as a starting point for a critical analysis to examine the role of institutional critique, systemic erasure, and cultural safety, Matharu explores the impact of the absences of non-hegemonic cultural production in the ongoing project of archives. Big thanks to our co-presenter Images Festival, to A Space Gallery staff and board, and to the @OAAG staff, board, and jury.
