A to Z Electronics 17.02.2021

Hi. I mentioned in a previous post that I had some unfinished business with one of my suppliers. I was outsourcing some of my specialized electronics repairs and it turns out he was ripping me off and charging me for work that wasn't done. I only found out about this recently and needless to say, I was very disappointed with him. This from a guy that I've known for three years now and considered a friend and colleague. He's been in business for decades and came highly recomme...nded by none other than Sandra Philips from Smart Shopping Montreal. Get this: I bring in a Paradigm subwoofer to get fixed and he gives me a ballpark figure of $90.00 for the repair. Of course there were complications and it ended up costing more than expected, but instead of telling me this so that I could confer with my customer, he goes ahead with the repair and charges me $250.00. He then has the nerve to tell me that I can charge my customer $280.00 since the thing is worth $300.00 Totally not the point. I should've refused and demanded that he put everything back the way it was, and I would've been perfectly within my rights, but my customer was willing to pay the extra amount. Too bad the the thing broke down again. Still under warranty I brought it back but it seems he can't fix it. When I start talking refund for the $250.00, he suddenly doesn't know what I'm talking about since according to him the repair only came to $150.00. This is straight-up fraud and obviously I can't let this slide. I mentioned a day of reckoning. Well today is the day. Me and a friend of mine (a security guard by profession who'll be accompanying me in uniform) will be paying him a friendly visit at his shop and hopefully get this and a few other loose ends sorted out without having to resort to the police or the legal system. I'll fill you in on the other details later. Wish us luck.

Hi. Slow season or not, it seems like there's never a dull moment here. More junk is coming in for recycling. One colleague lived in an old reception hall for over 30 years and accumulated quite the collection of odds and ends; his having to move means he's bringing all his stuff here. Another colleague recently started his own online retail business, buying department store returns and fixing them to resell; all the unrepairable stuff gets dropped off here. All this gets sor...ted, stripped down and boxed. More scrap plus a recovering commodities market means more revenue when I cash it all in. My renovations will be taking off soon. I occurs to me that no renovations have been done in my spot since this placed was built in 1986 and it shows. At first it was a Million Comics store which had two spaces (this one at 1260 and the adjacent one to the right), and when A to Z TV Service moved in, the space was cut in half (the other part taken over my Luigi's Bakery). Just because my coffee lounge concept was put on hold thanks to CoVID doesn't mean I can't catch up on some long overdue repairs. My landlord had already taken care of finding me a plumber to replace my toilet which has crapped out on me, so that's done. I recently bought new ceiling titles to replace the old ones in front and I'll need to borrow my neighbor's ladder for that once once more space has been cleared, so that's almost taken care of. More games came in stock, this time only two SNES RPG titles: Wanders from Ys III and Castlevania IV. In the meantime, I'm selling a lot of my Switch titles. Most stores like Best Buy and EB Games are still closed, with online sales and either delivery or curb-side pickup only. Others like Pharamaprix and Walmart are still open but can't sell videogames, and their online selection isn't the best to put it mildly. It'll only be on February 8th at the earliest that they MIGHT reopen depending on what mood Premier Legault's puppetmasters are in, so buy local and support small businesses like mine. One last note, I finally got the proof that one of my suppliers has been ripping me off. I'm going to confront him and force him to refund me for the work me overcharged me for, among other things like work he charged me for that was never done. Long story. Rest assured I've warned my other suppliers about his thievery and they'll be on guard. It might get ugly but I've been putting this off for too long and I need to put this behind me. Wish me luck. Hi. I've noticed that this indefinite lockdown and now the curfew is starting to wear on people, even those that I thought were solid. All I can say is don't give in and don't give up. In the meantime, people are looking for things they need and where are they gonna go with most venues either closed or not allowed to sell non-essentials? I may not have all the answers to all your problems, but I've got solutions for just about all of your technical problems.... Customers need their gaming consoles fixed and while some manufacturers have their customer service departments still open to process in-warranty repairs (yay for Nintendo), others are closed indefinitely (not cool, Sony). For out-of-warranty repairs, what are you gonna do? Come see me, of course. We're the console repair experts with years of experience under our belts, with a success rate of about 90-95% to prove it. A friend needed a USB charging cable for his iPhone, and neither Pharmaprix nor Walmart were allowed to sell him one. What was he gonna do? Come see me, of course. I do carry USB mini, USB micro, USB-C and lightning charging cables for smartphones and other devices. I sold him one and he was back in business. Another customer needed an AC adapter for a Roku box he was setting up for a friend, but he didn't have time to go to NDG and back before the curfew. What was he gonna do? Come see me, of course. I've got hundreds of AC adapters that I took the time to sort by voltage, amperage and polarity. Bring in your device like he did and I'll see if one of mine fits and powers it on like mine did his. Ditto for videogames. Who's still selling them offline? Me and Comptant.com. Who's got the best prices and the best selection? Me. Period. Before you spend another dime and the Big Box stores, come see me first and I'll see what I can do. Later

Hi. As an essential services provider I consider myself lucky to still be in business when the Powers That Be seem to have it in for me and the working class in general. I'd also like to take the time to thank my customers for their patience and understanding during these trying times as I try to get the parts I need to fix their stuff before Chinese New Year this February, when all the wholesalers will be closed for a couple of weeks, further disrupting shipping logistics. ...I'm also the only store selling videogames and videogame accessories, as all the other Big Box stores are either closed with curb side pick up only (Best Buy) or still open but only selling groceries and toiletries. Good thing I stocked up on stuff before the lockdown, so I've still got brand-new PS4 controllers and a whole bunch of PS4 games which will play on your PS5. I've also ordered new titles which came in this week, namely some musical titles for Switch (besides Deemo, I've gotten Cytus alpha limited edition, Voez and Musynx) and some RPG and fighting titles for both PS Vita (Conception 2: Children of the Seven Stars limited edition and Valhalla Knights 3) and PS3 (Atelier Rorona, Atelier Totori, Guilty Gear Xrd Sign and Blazblu: Chrono Phantasma, all limited edition and the latter three brand new and still factory sealed). It looks like I'll never get that parcel from the States that I was waiting for, so I'll have to re-order those other PS Vita titles I was looking to get. More to follow Later

Hi. It seems that a lot of company public statements about their commitments to eliminate human trafficking in their supply chains is just pure virtue signaling. https://www.breitbart.com//study-nike-apple-bmw-among-83-/
