Myself and my moonfruity partner are heading off on a tour of BC next week with our pal Sarah Osborne Music, and I was just thinking in taking a walk this morning that there likely (hopefully!) won't be too much winter on the ground by the time we get back in a month. So, I thought I should share a few more frosty snaps with you all, including one of our poor cat, Sully, who ran up a tree to get away from an over-excited puppy. (This was before I figured out that he was really stuck up there and had to tap into my teenage self's tree-climbing skills to get him down). Our neighbourhood in Lindenlea is also getting heavily developed, and I'm trying to remember to document what these places were and will be and how they're getting there. Bisous, Alex

I can't believe what a cool happening MEGAPHONO V - Feb 7-9 Fév 2019 made happen at Black Squirrel Books & Espresso Bar last Wednesday. Friggin' Kid Koala came to spin tracks from his new album, Music to draw to: io, and we all got to hang out and do a little doodlin. Here are a couple of candidates for the Weird Fishes series I've slowly been working on between Moonfruits responsibilities. Merci à mon nouvel ami Steve Clay pour la photo!

This weekend was my third attempt making sourdough and... holy p'tit jésus, it worked! The dough actually rose not just once but every time I kneaded it (my collapsing dough fears are strong by this point) and it baked up just fine, though word on the street is I apparently needed about 4 times the salt and the crumb was a bit tough. But hey, at least nobody's at risk of dislocating their jaw this time around. Also, apparently my starter was a bit sad and underfed (people tell me it's like a pet) for my last few attempts, hence the large crouton texture. Ça s'en vient! - I just won't be inviting the whole block for a toast and jam party quite yet.

I'm rediscovering some drawings I started I while back. I kind of like them! I'm going to give it a go and make a little series and, in honour of my deep abiding love of Radiohead, I think I might call it Weird Fishes. Bisoux.
