The Minnow Lake Lions had the local outreach program also known as the Red Coats "Jumping for Joy" over the Club’s recent donation. The $500.00 donation will be used to help purchase warm boots, first aid supplies and keep their van on the road. A big Roooaaar to the Minnow Lake club for their caring donation which should create some warm hearts even during these frigid temperatures.

It is with excitement and hope that WE share an idea to reopen the group feature of this page to Incoming Presidents and Vice Presidents in A5 who wish to stay in touch. The group will allow Presidents to share ideas, frustrations, challenges, as well as keep each other informed on information they may have or found. The Presidents can also invite others like the District Governor for a topical chat, or perhaps the Chair of A5 Membership, etc . Open Communication to encourage... honest business like conversations in the hopes we link together as a team working together with the common goal being: Serving our Communities and having active Clubs. If you are an incoming President/Vice or know of one and think this is a great idea please just comment below and if there is enough interest then the rules of the group will be made so that the group can function within the bounds of Lionism.

February 15th is International Child Hood Cancer awarness day and the Capreol Lions have answered the call to assist children in our local area at the Northeastern Cancer Center . Lion Kathy (pictured below) led the initiative which included having the fantastic children of C. R. Judd Public School write cards of encouragement, Lions also wrote cards, THEY also supplied the Centre with some work books for children who were having trouble with virtual classes, 3 D printed good...ies and Tim Hortons cards for families to use while at the centre. Items of comfort to aid these brave children while they battle the beast called cancer and beat it. WE in the North are lucky to have such an elite centre here where Children and their Families can go for treatment, care, as well as some TLC from the wonderful Doctors and Nurses who work the frontlines in the battle to defeat cancer. THEY hope our gesture of kindness and letters of hope, courage as well as strength will shine a little light on the search for a cure as well as bring a few smiles to those in need....ROAR!

The Walden Lions Club made a very Christmas brought a little Christmas cheer so some Community members on Ontario Disability Support Payments. The Club realized the challenge that these members of the Community have been going through during this pandemic and decided to lend a hand up to them. The Club bought some bed linens, some towels and a cozy blanket, a small gesture of kindness that makes a whole word of difference for some. Well done Walden Lions your big hearts at this time of year, surely add to the magic of Christmas.

The Earlton Lions welcomed Lions Marielle and Diane to their PRIDE and ensured to follow all the COVID safety rules while inducting them. This year has a been challenging for Clubs to maintain or find new members, so it is very exciting to see these two new Lions join A5 in serving our District and of course their community. WELCOME new Lion...Roar....Roar.....Roar!!!

Santa Claus came to Capreol to do a Virtual reading of letters from boys and girls. WE thought you could invite your children and grandchildren to catch a glimpse of Jolly Ole St Nick in action. So click the link, snuggle in with some hot cocoa with marshmallows and get your smiles ready as a white Christmas is delivered to the North tonight...ho ho ho. https://www.sudbury.com//watch-no-santa-visits-this-year-s

The New Liskeard Lions Club made a significant donation of $6000 to the Splash Pad Committee in the area. Splash pads provide families with a great way to keep cool during the hot summer months and they are a whole lot of fun to visit as well. This generous donation will go a long way to ensure the building of the Splash pad and the Lions are proud to be a part of such a great Community initiative. WE just hope that its not a POLAR splash pad because that might just be a big nippy this time of year..ROAR...brrrrr!!! Pictured below is: The New Liskeard Lions club representative past president Alf O’Reilly and Shami Kahlon, along with splash pad committee member Einas Makki

The New Likeard Lions Club is growing!! They are proud to present their new member Patrick Smits who was sponsored by past president Alf O’Reilly (both pictured below). It’s always a special day when a Club inducts a new member but it is even more special and important during these challenging times. Growing Clubs is how Lionism continues and it also makes the task of serving communities easier when you have more help. Congratulations Lion Patrick and welcome to the Pride....ROAR!!
