COVID-19 Update. Contact tracing has led us to believe these 7 active cases are related to a single gathering. We do not anticipate any further cases related to this gathering. As a reminder, close contacts are instructed to isolate for 14 days. A negative test does not shorten the isolation period. COVID may take up to 14 days to incubate. This means someone may be infected but have not produced enough virus in their system to test positive. It is essential that close contacts complete their 14 days of isolation.

COVID-19 Update. These cases do not indicate significant community transmission within Aamjiwnaang. There have been very few close contacts identified outside of these households. If we continue to follow social gathering rules and other precautions, we will protect our community from an outbreak. If you start to experience symptoms, isolate and get tested right away. Testing at the Aamjiwnaang First Nation Health Centre is available by calling 519-332-6770 ext 305.

COVID-19 Update. The sudden decrease in active cases is because, when an individual starts to show symptoms, their isolation period starts. If they test positive, their case is resolved after 10 days, provided they have no fever and symptoms are improving. Resolved case = isolation period complete + no fever + symptoms are improving. It is important that we continue to be diligent and follow best practices. We encourage you to review information available to make decisions for yourself and your family.

The City of Sarnia will be doing Fire Flow Testing on Aamjiwnaang First Nation tomorrow morning. There may be some discolored water, we ask homeowners run their cold side tap, this should clear up in a few minutes. We apologize for the inconvenience. Miigwetch
