Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute has received a grant to undertake consultations in the communities in Eeyou Istchee, as well as the Eeyou populations living outside the region, to determine opinions on how residential schools should be remembered. As a starting point, we would like any interested community member in Eeyou Istchee to take this survey, from which we will determine the next steps in this project. We understand that this could be triggering or distressing. A National Residential School Crisis Line has been set up to provide support to former students and their families.
