The 18U Atlantic Baseball Academy Blue Wave wrapped up its Fall Baseball Super Series this weekend with at 3-2 win over Kings Edgehill School (Windsor, NS). Ethan Smith earned the win on the mound while Dylan Worth drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th for the thrilling Blue Wave walk-off win. The Blue Wave would like to thank the Holland College Hurricanes and Kings Edgehill School for the exciting and well played games this Fall. What a weekend of baseball in the Fall Super Series held at Memorial Field (Charlottetown, PEI) this past weekend! In game 1 on Saturday, the 18U Atlantic Baseball Academy Blue Wave held a 6-3 lead heading into the final inning of play before King’s Edgehill scored 3 runs to tie the game. In the bottom half of the final inning, the 18U ABA Blue Wave team loaded the bases setting up the heroics of Owen Lynch delivering a walk-off single to earn the win for the Blue Wave! Tyl...er Taylor threw 6 solid innings on the mound for the Blue Wave, who were led offensively by Cody McCormack who delivered 2 hits in the win. Game 2 on Saturday started out in a tight well-played affair until the King’s Edgehill pulled away late in the game for an 8-2 win. Ethan Smith threw 6 strong innings on the mound with Duncan Picketts leading the way offensively with a 2 run double to deep Center for the Blue Wave. Game 3 of the weekend had the Holland College Hurricanes prevailing for the win over King’s Edgehill in a well pitched game by both sides with a final score of 2-1 for the Hurricanes win. It was a great evening of baseball as the 18U Atlantic Baseball Academy Blue Wave team battled the Holland College Hurricanes Final score resulted in a 5-1 Hurricanes win; however, Connor Ellsworth pitched 5 solid innings on the mound for the Blue Wave while Garrett Culleton led the charge offensively with 2 hits (including a towering double to deep CF). This weekend the 18U Atlantic Baseball Academy Blue Wave will play host to King’s Edgehill (Windsor, NS) in a double-hea...der starting at 1:30pm on Saturday. Tyler Taylor is projected to get the start on the mound for game 1, while Ethan Smith will be handed the ball for the start in game 2.
