Captain Mom’s Log: Day 52 of Social Distancing Thunder rumbled loudly outside. I was awoken with a start but instantly relaxed listening to the rain patter outside my window. I nestled down into my cocoon of blankets and drifted in and out of sleep while listening to the outside rumble. The husband went into work in the morning and I was hit with the cleaning bug. ... The youngest went to our bubble family’s house for a play date in the afternoon while the husband and I tackled this beast of a light fixture. It’s gorgeous. And I love it so much now that it’s up... but 2 hours of blood, sweat and tears were put into it. You can’t tell, but it’s actually 3 separate pieces that attach to the ceiling. And the cables for the lights are over 10ft long. Each. I earned this candle lit bath tonight! @ Oromocto, New Brunswick

Captain Mom’s Log: Day 51 of Social Distancing Just call me Miss Slacker. I missed day 50! I could say life was so incredible and so busy that I didn’t have tome. But I won’t lie to you. I just got distracted by the empty nothing that is social distancing and forgot. ... I ran some errands with my bubble wife yesterday. So thankful we are able to bubble up! And I made cheese buns and bagels. See? Didn’t miss much yesterday haha. Today was a lazy day at home, of course. Our neighbour set up a fun social distancing activity for the kids. They had a blast! He always comes up with the coolest activities. I made cookies. As I’m lying here in bed, I’m realizing I forgot to eat one. I hope some are still left when I wake up in the morning... The husband fell asleep in the princess bed and I got some kitty cuddles I’ll try not to forget another update. I hope you all forgive me! Xoxo @ Oromocto, New Brunswick

Captain Mom’s Log: Day 49 of #SocialDistancing Today was a lazy, rainy day. I started the day off by having a video chat with a friend and giggling at my son’s love for the kitty. ... Miss Stella was curiously exploring. She’s my shy, skittish girl so when she starts exploring, I tend to let her do it. I read an entire book this afternoon. Granted, it was a short read, just over 120 pages. But let me tell you, that twist was not one I saw coming! We played a pirate dice game with the kiddos and then the husband and I gorged ourselves on homemade pizza once they were asleep. @ Oromocto, New Brunswick

Captain Mom’s Log: Day 48 of #SocialDistancing Another sunshine filled day! The children are true Canadians. It was only 11 degrees and they were outside in their bathing suits and spraying each other with the hose. ... Once their fun was over, we went for a nature walk and tried to find some birdies. The youngest played a prank on her father. She stuck a purple hair bow on his butt. It took him a couple hours to realize! Gave the rest of us some giggles as he wandered around with a purple bow on his bum! We finished the day off by making some chocolate chip banana muffins and a video chat with some old friends. We miss you guys! Looking forward to the next chat! @ Oromocto, New Brunswick
