New hours at Harbour Health! Some of you may know, I teach part time at Loyalist College, which required a change of clinic hours. This new schedule accommodates those teaching hours, but also makes things more flexible so that I can attend and host more workshops and off site visits. The flexibility also makes it easier to offer more of what you have been telling me you want - namely more drop in hours! We've combined Drop In Acupuncture with the Naturopathic Walk in Clin...ic and extended the walk-in hours to include all day Thursday and Saturday. You can still book regular follow up appointments on those days and will be seen at your scheduled time, but we will leave space in the schedule to accommodate walk ins. Happy Autumn everyone!

Love the County, hate it's ticks. Just another reminder to do a tick check! If you have any questions about ticks, Lyme, or other tick borne illnesses, get in touch! ... Thanks to the Lake Simcoe Conservation Authority for the graphic. https://www.lsrca.on.ca/Ticks-Lyme-Disease

We're taking a little bit of time off here at Harbour Health and Wellness. A chance to chill out, regroup, and move forward better than ever. The hours will also be changing slightly upon our reopen. We're aiming for more flexibility, and better service for you! ... Stay tuned!

This is fantastic news for teachers. I recommend Calm all the time, and use it myself. I'm so pleased they're offering FREE options for teachers to use personally and in the classroom. Check out the link for more information.

So often when I have a patient see me for fertility issues it's a woman coming alone. Often she's been trying to conceive for a long time, and no one has suggested having her partners sperm tested. Frustrating to say the least! It's a fairly simple test, and it can rule in or rule out causes of decreased fertility, or even frequent miscarriage. Sperm health has been on a steady decline for the last 30 years across the world, and on top of that - the age of the person will... have an effect on sperm quality. There are things that you can do to increase the quality of sperm and seminal fluid - things we will be talking about on Monday in Wellington. Come join us - all genders are welcome!

We all know that people are waiting longer to get pregnant, and we kinda know that it might be a bad idea, but do you know what's actually going on? On Monday we're having our Monthly Wellness Chat at the Wellington Public Library at 6:30 pm. Age & fertility is one of the things we will be talking about. Let's talk about the real stats surrounding egg quality, sperm quality, and conception rates as we age. ... We will also talk about things you can do to improve your chances of pregnancy, no matter how old you are! See more

Some FAQ's about the Wellington Clinic Hours? Every Tuesday 10-7 ... Location? 305 Wellington Main St. 2nd Floor - just above Idle Wild Services? All things Naturopathic - including acupuncture, cupping, and massage. The only difference is that in Wellington I don't have any admin staff, or access to the Vichy Hydrotherapy table that we have in Picton. What about the PWYC clinics? There isn't enough space in Wellington to offer drop in style clinics - there is no waiting room. I'm happy to offer PWYC acupuncture by appointment. I can also offer short PWYC visits to cover things normally done at my walk in clinic - you just need to call/message for an appointment time.

Today I am grateful that the tomato and garlic scape times are overlapping. Breakfast is my favourite, and there is just nothing like nice tomatoes with your fried egg. ... Around here we flip flop between bread and rice. Same start. Fry the garlic scapes for a few minutes, take them off the heat and add tomato and green onion. For the European flavour I add olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and eat it with a Montreal bagel For the Filipino flavour, you only need to add a little patis (fish sauce) and fry some onion or garlic into your leftover rice. It's my favourite way to start the day. Or end the day. Or during a break in the day. All day, every day. A BIG thank you to the wonderful farmers who are keeping me in scapes. You are being featured heavily in my gratitude journal lately.
