OPEN GYM IS BACK! Every Tuesday and Thursday at ARC from 4-5. We only have 4 slots to start, first come first serve. Also it’s free!!! We also have Cook with Me happening on zoom today from 4-5, we are making chocolate mug cakes . If you can’t make open gym or cook with me, come say hi after school from 2-4 at the ARC and get a snack! #

This week at AYC - - January 11-15. Join us every day after school for healthy snacks! A huge thanks for the grant provided by the Abbotsford Community Foundation that allows us to feed all y'all! We have just a couple of spots left in our Foodsafe Level One course for this Saturday! Following all COVID 19 safety protocols we are keeping the number students low to ensure physical distancing so this is a great time for youth ages 14 - 18 to get certified with our youth friendly teacher in a small classroom setting. This week at the AYC ... more of the same fun! There are daily snacks. Pop by the youth centres to say hi to the staff and get your snack!! And, the staff are online - so ask them what they are doing?! ... there will be a new face this week ... first person to DM (on Instagram) a welcome message for the new staff wins a prize!!

We have made some changes to our programming this week to ensure that we are doing two things 1) keeping youth and staff safe, and 2) making sure we are still connecting with youth! Youth can still drop by the youth centres and say hi to the staff and get a snack :) AND they can connect with us online. #Repost @abbotsfordcommunityfoundation with @get_repost Thank you to the Abbotsford Youth Commission for sending us an update on how they've put their money from the Emergency Community Support Fund to good use with their Connect Is Key program! We're thrilled to see that they were able to use the funds to purchase laptops to support their online activities as well as supplies for 3-5 activities per week hosted both in-person and online. The AYC reports they have made ove...r 1,300 connections with youth between June and July! The #ECSFund would not be possible without the support of Community Foundations of Canada and the Government of Canada.

Say Goodbye to Emily :( We are VERY sad to announce that Emily is leaving us and moving to Victoria! Make sure you visit the youth centres this week or at least DM her to say goodbye. Her last day is Friday! Even though we are SAD - we wish her all the best in her new adventure!
