CORRECTION: Services will be live-streamed at 11:00am on Sundays, not 9am, as originally indicated in the post. Today’s new health orders put a four-week hiatus on in-person worship services: Nov 22 - Dec 13. That means we will be live streaming our services at 11 a.m. Those of you that have agreed to be readers, pray-ers, and musicians are invited to come to the church to perform your role in the liturgy. This is the way things worked during the first lock-down as well for... those churches that were doing live-streaming. During the first lockdown we produced a virtual pre-filmed service that was uploaded to YouTube on a weekly basis. This time, with both parishes having acquired the necessary equipment, we'll offer the livestreaming option. You can watch the service on this page on Sunday. It is our sincere hope and prayer that after this four-week hiatus we will be able to get back to the in-person services we have been offering. Please stay tuned for more news! #abbyanglican #anglican #dioceseofnewwestminster #abbotsford #fraservalley #covid19 #onlinechurch #inclusivechurch See more

While we are still able to hold in person services with under 50 people, we know many of you may feel more comfortable worshipping at home right now. We’ve been working on ironing out the glitches in our livestream over the past few weeks, as well as updating our website. You can now watch the service live on our website using the livestream tab! We look forward to worshipping with you virtually or in person :) #abbyanglican #anglican #dioceseofnewwestminster #abbotsford #fraservalley #inclusivechurch #onlinechurch

The #midweekupdate is here! Watch it here https://youtu.be/VYLJKU6Wz_0 Not mentioned in, but still very important, are the weekly virtual group meetings held amongst our parishioners here and and St. Matt’s. In all the busyness of our daily lives, it can be refreshing and renewing to take a break, grab a cup of coffee or tea, and talk about life, the bible, and your faith with others along the journey. Why not join fellow parishioners from St. Matthew and St. Thomas in one of our weekly virtual Zoom meetings? If you are interested in joining, it’s never too late. Message us or send an email to [email protected] and we can provide you with link needed to join. #abbyanglican #anglican #dioceseofnewwestminster #abbotsford #fraservalley #biblestudy #compline

Today was Orange Shirt Day - a day to remember those who attended residential schools and suffered abuse of all kinds. We wear orange as a way of remembering and supporting our Indigenous sisters and brothers who still are dealing with the trauma of their or their family members’ experiences. #orangeshirtday

Fr. Allen’s #midweekupdate is online! Here it is https://www.abbotsfordanglican.ca/eve/be-a-ninny/2020-09-16 This week, we have an exciting new announcement regarding a course being offered to parishioners: Simply Christians, an introduction and refresher for our faith. Whether we have been coming to Church for years or just started to take an interest this is a series of internet sessions in which we will look at the basics of our faith and life. Tom Wright is a world fa...mous writer and teacher who has published a straightforward and easy to understand series of videos taken from his book Simply Christian just for this kind of study. We will make our way through a selection of these and allow time for comments and discussions. Let’s be clear, this is intended to be helpful for anybody in our extended church community and an opportunity fo fill in gaps for our regulars as well as those starting out. We will begin with a one-off call at 7pm on Wednesday 23rd September to find out the best day, time, and calendar for the group as well as deciding on the most important topics that we want to focus on. Tom Wright has given us a wealth of material and we can pick and chose how best to use it. If this interests you, a Zoom link has been sent out in the weekly parish email. I’d you aren’t on our mailing list and would like to join, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us, either via DM or email: [email protected]. Happy Thursday! #abbyanglican #anglican #dioceseofnewwestminster #abbotsford #fraservalley #ntwright See more
