Club Member of the Year Steph Wiebe. Steph put in tons of time to help the club have a successful season. Not only was she handling all VP duties on the exec, she also took care of all the registration issues for all of our club teams. She was always willing to help and was a major asset for the club last season. Thank you so much for all the work you did last season we could not thank you enough. Congratulations and best of luck on your pregnancy. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby
MVP Megan Chambers. Being an absolute force on the pitch offensively and defensively has earned this woman MVP. She makes HUGE hits and is a standout every single game. She is extremely hard working and is always there to support her teammates on the pitch. With ball in hand, she is tough to take down and usually ends up setting up one of her teammates for a try. Her skills and rugby knowledge make her a huge asset to the woman’s team. Meg was able to slide from back row to front row in many games seamlessly. Congratulations Meg. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #BornToRugby
Best Forward Yuka Kubota. Even though she is usually the shortest player on the pitch, she makes her physical presence known playing like someone double her size. She never shies away from contact and is usually putting in work taking down some of the biggest players on the other team. Yuka works hard and is always supporting her team all over the pitch. Yuka worked very hard on improving her ball stealing from openside and always wanted to learn more. Congratulations Yuka. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #SizeDoesntMatter
Best Back Erin Skillings. Erin’s electrifying pace and ability to finish on the wing has earned her this award.Erin was the leading try scorer on the team and she also played every position in the backs during the season. Defensively, she was very solid holding the line in the centers and when in the back three she made many try saving tackles. Not only was she a huge asset on the pitch but off the pitch she put a lot of time in to help the club succeed. Good job Erin. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #trytime
Most Improved Pawan Grewal. This woman showed great growth through the season on and off the pitch. On the pitch, she worked hard and made life hard for the opposing team. Off the field, she worked hard to see the club succeed. Looking forward to continued growth in the years to come. Congratulations Pawan. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #Club #Growth
Div 1 MVP Darwin Guevara. Just in incredibly hard worker on offense and defense has won this guy MVP. Even though he is usually on the wing, Darwin was noticeable all around the field. When the team needed people to move around and fill in other spots, he took on what was best for the team. Offensively he was a nightmare for any opposing winger.. and defensively he was a nightmare for any opposing winger as well. His ability to finish time and time again or commit multiple defenders to every tackle earned this guy MVP. Great work Darwin. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #Club #MVP
Rookie of the Year Matt Turi. Right from the start of the season, Matt fit in well with the div 1 squad and made his presence known. His ability to hit lines at full pace gave the boys the forward momentum they needed game in and game out. Not only that, but this kid can finish and we were able to see him score try after try. A very bright future ahead for this young lad. Congratulations Matt! #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #rugbyClub #Finisher
Div 1 Best Forward Von Richardson. Game in and game out, Von made his presence known on the field through his physicality. Tackle after tackle, run after run and ruck after ruck for 80 minutes every weekend. This kid impressed the coaches and everyone watching on a weekly basis with his tackling abilities as he chopped down guys again and again, double his size. Congratulations Von. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #Club #HardAsNails
A great human being and Most Improved Albert Grigorov. The coaches and all his teammates saw tremendous growth in Albert’s game this season. Consistently starting for Div 1, this big beauty upped his game from recent years. His ability to fill our bellies with delicious food was also a bonus and we can’t thank you enough. Continue being you buddy, Great work. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #rugbyclub #abbotsfordbusiness #abbotsfordbc #Bulgaria
Div 2 MVP Ethan Turner. Tremendous skill was shown from this youngster in all aspects of the game. On offence, his passing was extremely accurate, his kicking was pinpoint and his ability to finish was great. Defensively, he tackled low and used his big boot to get the team out of trouble many times. Good job Ethan. Many great things to come. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #Club #MVP
Div 1 Best Back Connor Hunter. Connor’s ability to see space, put his teammates into space, kick for points, and command the team around the field made him an obvious choice for best back. There were many phenomenal try’s this season because of this guy and once in a while he made some nice tackles. Over the years, It has been a pleasure watching Connor grow from an obnoxious little twerp to the man he is now. Congratulations. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #rugbyclub #flyhalf #rugbygram #rugbyunion
Div 2 Best Forward Tristan Shayler. Coming into his 1st year of mens, this kid did not shy away from contact. A typical hard working forward Tristan hit ruck after ruck, made tackle after tackle and was always there to run crash balls. Great work Tristan. We are looking forward to seeing you climb the ranks in the years to come. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #Club #Hardworkpaysoff
Div 2 Back of the Year Koby Ashton. Koby’s impressive pace, ability to attack holes and dance through defenders made him a standout in the div 2 backline. Considering this was still his rookie year, we will be seeing great things in the years to come. Congrats. #AbbotsfordRugby #Abbotsford #Rugby #Club #wheels
