Day 2 - Artist Profile Series: Arnold Zageris is a Peterborough based photographer who has made a habit of visiting some of the more harsh climates of the world. Zageris’ previous expeditions have brought him to the remote areas of northern Labrador and to the unforgiving landscapes of Antarctica. His most recent expedition took him to the black sands of Iceland. Zageris will bring this body of work to represent us for the 2021 CONTACT Photography Festival. This photo is a glimpse of what you can expect next May. This artwork is titled Tidal Ice 1 of 5, 2019, Print 2020, Photography, 26 x 17.8. It is also available currently in the @baycrest COVID relief fundraiser mentioned in our previous post!

Day 1 - Gallery Artist Profile Series: Albert Dumouchel (1916 - 1971) was a Quebec based multi-discipline artist: a musician, a photographer, painter, and printmaker. In 1955 Dumouchel recieved a UNESCO scholarship to study in Europe where he pursued research in printmaking and just under a decade later was awarded a membership into the Florentine Academy of Fine Arts and shortly after became a recipient of the Centenary Medal for service rendered to the nation of Canada. He, along with four others represented Canada at the 1960 Venice Biennale. The piece here is an etching, titled "La chevre 23/30, with the dimensions of 14 x 11 in. Printed in 1958.
