We would like to say a special thank you to Transformative Life Skills, Nunavik for sending us a box of masks in the mail. These are made by Tanya Innaarulik Designs and will help protect our volunteers and customers to our Thrift Shop Food Bank. Check out TLS Nunavik on Instagram at @TLSNunavut. Their stress management techniques are particularly important during these pandemic times. Ma'na to TLS Nunavik

Excited to share two articles written by Darrell Greer from Kivalliq News about our work at the Abluqta Society. Thank you to Eleora and Matthew Cox of Maple Ridge BC for all their hard work to organize a food and supply donation in their community. Please see pages 7 and 10 for English. Abluqta Society 31.12.2020

It is with gratitude that our Society has received an early Christmas gift in the mail!! No, it wasn’t from Santabut rather from two amazing, ajungi youth from Maple Ridge, BC: Eleora and Matthew Cox (aged 17 and 15). From across our entire country, these two heard about our Thrift Shop/Food Bank Social Enterprise and decided to do a community donation drive in Maple Ridge BC for a community project (for Scouts and Girl Guides). They have organized donation drives, sourced 3...3 boxes of donated food and clothing items from their community, picked up, sorted, packaged and weighed them and sent them all the way up to Baker Lake. They even filled up their whole dining room up with boxes of donations for our community!! They are even sending masks to protect Qamani’tuaqmiut from COVID-19. On behalf of the team here at Abluqta, thank you Eleora & Matthew for all your efforts to help the people of Baker Lake. Please extend our thanks to the generous people of Maple Ridge who answered your call. Thank you also to Jennifer Gwilliam from Helping our Northern Neighbours who first mentioned our society to you. Eleora and Matthew, your generosity and hard work is greatly appreciated, especially during these pandemic, lockdown times. Ma’na: which is how we say thank you in our dialect of Inuktitut.
