Long live community! Long live art!

Aboriginal Arts Training and Mentorship Program 31.07.2021

http://www.urbanindigenoustheatre.com It's been an amazing journey in rehearsals for our upcoming Urban Indigenous Theatre Co. shows so far. So excited! The work our cast Ryan Black, Michael Lawrenchuk, Tracey Nepinak and Aboriginal Arts Training and Mentorship Program alumni Kelsey Wavey are doing in JUMPING MOUSE and FABRIC OF THE SKY is emotionally intelligent, physically agile, and incredibly spirited work as anything I have ever seen. They make me (as the director) look ...really really smart! heehee. Truly honoured to be working with these artists!!! Thanks also to Fina MacDonell and the artists at Rabbit's Choice prop house in Toronto for creating the Jumping Mouse Animals for us! Also, continued gratitude to James Douglas Moores' production leadership and the amazing off-stage artistry he has on board with us. Our Stage Manager Brett is reading my mind already, when it comes to calling sound Q's in rehearsal!!! Long live community! Long live art! See more

There is a session with the YPP at Menno Simons College at 1PM today. Any of you that can make please attend. We will be scheduling for an adapted version of the Moving Gallery (with newcomer input) for presentation to schools in late September. If any of you read this in time please call as many of the others as you are able. Also any mainstream youth you may have as friends are welcome to attend. Today's meeting is important as we will be going over the process and attempt...ing a schedule. Apologies for the late notice I'm super swamped.
