ASRNB is pleased to introduce our 2021 Bullying Ambassadors! Join us in congratulating our 3 finalist for a job well done! First Place - Harlow and Maverick Pictou from St. Mary's First Nation won the attention of the ASRNB team with their smiles of confidence and empathy! Keep smiling!!... Second place is Tamika Gideon from Listuguj Mikmaq Nation, and her submission included: My name is Tamika Gideon and I am in grade eight. The picture below is my family bubble all wearing pink to support anti-bullying day. My write up about what I do if I encounter bullying: If I encounter bullying, with me or someone else, I have always been able to discretely tell a trusted adult. Bullying is definitely NOT ok! As hard as it is, you have to believe in yourself and don’t stoop down to the bullies level; try to stand strong in your beliefs! Well done Tamika!! Our third place finishers are Keaton and Parker Simonson from Eel River Bar who share that their family motto is to "always treat others how they want to be treated"! Excellent advise boys!! Harlow and Maverick will be receiving our snowshoe package which includes ASRNB swag, gift cards etc, Tamika is the winner of $100 Chapters Gift Card and Keaton and Parker are both receiving gift cards from Sport Chek!

ASRNB would like to welcome Andrea Creer to our team!!!! Please see below a biography she provided for you to get to know her! Andrea will be based out of the Fredericton office!! Hello, my name is Andrea Creer. I was born and raised in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia where I played a variety of sports including gymnastics, volleyball, soccer, archery, ultimate frisbee, running and competitive swimming. My passion throughout my youth was with swimming so much so that I have been c...oaching the sport for the last 7 years after ending my swimming career in 2016. In 2016 I moved to Fredericton to start my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology before switching to the Recreation and Sport Studies program with a minor in business. Through the university, I have had the opportunity to do some work for local organizations such as RingetteNB, 1st Marysville Scouts Group, and Fredericton Fusion Basketball Club. My time in Fredericton has opened up opportunities to coach the competitive swim team FAST, develop my NCCP and work with organizations like CoachNB which has been my summer job for the last 3 years. I'm looking forward to working with ASRNB throughout my internship and being able to learn with and about the team! See more

A reminder to wear your Orange T-shirt tomorrow!!! I’ve just tried mine on and am allll set to go!! Every year on September 30th, we wear orange shirts to honour residential school survivors. Orange Shirt Day grew out of Phyllis Webstad’s story of having her shiny new orange shirt taken away on her first day of residential school, told for the first time in May 2013. It has become an opportunity to keep the discussion on all aspects of residential schools happening annually.... Orange Shirt Day is also an opportunity for First Nations, local governments, schools and communities to come together in the spirit of reconciliation and hope for generations of children to come. Phyllis published her first children’s book called The Orange Shirt Story which aims to bring communities together. ASRNB can’t wait to wear our Orange Shirts proudly tomorrow! Stay tuned for more photos and maybe a video or two!!!

From the moment we won the bid in March 2017, we have been working tirelessly with many volunteers to plan a phenomenal Canada Games for 5,000 participants from... across Canada. Today, and together with the Canada Games Council, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Niagara 2021 Canada Summer Games until the summer of 2022 to better protect the health and safety of Games participants, the Niagara community, and visitors from across the country. Although postponed a year, we will continue to move forward with the same passion and excitement as we prepare to host the nation in 2022. We can’t wait to deliver the Games we promised and the Games you deserve Let the NEW countdown begin!
