3 cups poha (flattened rice) 2 tbsp. vegetable oil (or canola or sunflower cooking oil) 1 tsp. mustard seeds (may be colored from yellowish white to black) 5 to 6 curry leaves Optional: 2 green chilies (slit lengthwise)... 1 carrot chopped into pieces. 250 grams of Green Peas 1 large potato (or 2 medium, quartered and sliced very thin) A handful of unsalted peanuts (skins removed) A pinch of turmeric 1/2 a lime (juiced) Salt to taste Garnish: chopped coriander Step 1 - Gather the ingredients. Step 2 -Put the poha in a sieve and wash under running water for 2 minutes. Step 3 -Keep aside to drain. Step 4 - Heat the oil in a pan on a medium flame and add the mustard seeds, curry leaves, and green chilies.(You can avoid curry leaves) Step 5- Fry till the spluttering stops and then add potatoes and let it cook for 2- 3 minutes Extra Step (Fry peanuts if you like) Step 6 - Add carrots and peas Step 7 -Drain the poha completely to remove all water and add it to the above mix. Add the turmeric powder and chilli powder and stir well to blend all ingredients. Step 8 - Garnish with chopped coriander and Sev and serve while hot. Chana Salad - #quickfood Ingredients of Chana Salad -50 gm black chickpeas (chana) -2 sliced onion -1 chopped capsicum ( green pepper)... - 1 sliced tomato Step 1 Boil the chana with salt. Add green peppers and tomato and mix them. For Toppings 1 handful chopped mint leaves 1 handful chopped coriander leaves 2 tablespoon lemon juice 2 teaspoon water 5 cloves garlic 3 sliced & slit green chilli 2 pinches salt 2 teaspoon virgin olive oil Step 2 Keep it in fridge till required. Add the dressing before 10 minutes of serving.
