Are you interested in going into a STEM field? Have you always had the desire to work in aviation? Now is your chance! The Windsor Flying Club is holding a fundraiser on March 23rd to raise $75,000 for two scholarships for aspiring pilots who have the goal and desire to complete their Commercial Pilot License (CPL); this license means the pilot can work for any airline in Canada! This is a great opportunity for any person interested in getting into a career in aviation but ...is not able to fund it themselves. As well, this scholarship promotes pursuing a career in the STEM field in Windsor-Essex; great chance to get more females in STEM roles in our community! A career in aviation focuses on engineering and mathematics, and can take you around the world, everyday. Not interested in applying for the scholarship? Come support the scholarship by attending the 1940’s Hollywood Canteen Fundraiser! The WFC is celebrating their 75th Anniversary and is raising money for these scholarships to give back to the community it has resided in for 75 years. The Hollywood Canteen Fundraiser is a night of dinner, refreshments, a silent auction, and themed music and performances by the Iron Tonic Jazz Band. Make sure to come out in your best 1940’s attire and get prepared for a great night out (dust off your swing dancing skills too!).
