Heard this on the weekend and it was perfect to sum up 2020 as we head into the final few weeks of the year. When the pandemic was first announced in March, I am sure many sat around and didn’t do much just waiting for this pandemic to pass thinking we will resume everything in a few months. Since it’s still going on, we can either keep sitting around and wait for the storm to pass or figure out how to function, adapt, or pivot in the storm or new way of life (congra...tulations to everyone who has already done this!) and continue to launch ourselves forward. You still have 1.5 months - that’s still lots of time to make a move whether it is taking action on your health, launching a new project or something else! Remember, if you can have fun dancing in the rain , you will have even more fun dancing during sunnier days . . #wordsofwisdom #motivation #inspirationalquotes #yyc #calgarylife #yycwellness #acaciawellnesskitchen #calgary #yychealth #wellnessblogger #productive #entrepreneurlife #yycnow #canada #torontolife #foodblogger #recipedevelopment #travelblogger #yycmoms #yyclifestyle #toasttuesday#yycliving #dancingintherain

While there can be so many causes of headaches and migraines such as high blood pressure, tension, hormonal imbalances, & food sensitivities, magnesium deficiency can contribute to headaches too. Magnesium is used by so many pathways in our body and is depleted by stress . Suboptimal magnesium levels may also cause: muscle cramps and/or restless legs PMS and premenstrual migraines chocolate cravings... menstrual cramps constipation anxiety/depression trouble sleeping lower blood pressure and more Oral magnesium is great for daily supplementation but sometimes you need higher doses and magnesium can trigger loose stools if you take too much of it orally. IV (intravenous) magnesium is great for getting high doses such as the 1g of IV magnesium that has been shown in research to help reduce migraine/headache severity and pain. IV magnesium may even help with treating acute migraines or for prevention. If you suffer from lots of menstrual cramps or menstrual migraines, IV magnesium premenstrually may help reduce or prevent them [see comments for research reference]. It’s best to talk to your healthcare professional about how much magnesium you should take and the best form for you because there are so many forms like citrate, threonate, bisglycinate, glycinate, oxide, malate and others it’s all so confusing that I may have lost ya. Suffer from headaches and want to figure out the root cause and if IV magnesium treatments may be of benefit? Hit up the link in my profile and book your naturopathic initial assessment today! . . #migraines #headaches #yycwellness #magnesium #stress #insomnia #anxiety #musclecramps #yycfitness #yycsports #calgary #calgarylife #calgaryliving #yycliving #yycnow #menstrualcramps #periodproblems #menstrualmigraines #digestion #depression #ivtherapy #nutrition #drshahnd #yychealth #constipation #sleepissues

There’s so much crazy in the world right now.Whenever you are feeling a little anxious, unfocused, or if your mind is running in multiple places then stop everything you are doing and try this simple exercise. I love doing this when I feel like I just need to re-center and re-focus whether I am at home or in the clinic. It will bring you a moment of stillness and presence and on the exhale, imagine you are letting go of all the tightness, tension, and negative sensati...ons in your mind/body.You can even repeat a few more times in a row. . . #deepbreathing #justbreathe #yyc #yycwellness #mentalwellness #yycmentalhealth #calgary #calgarylife #yycmoms #calgarymoms #yycnow #yycliving #anxiety #stress #mindfulness #relax #soulfulsaturday #saturdayvibes #2020 #mentalhealth #postpartum #perinatalhealth #yychealth See more

Fall/Winter is usually a common period for people to feel low because of the colder, darker days - known as Seasonal Affective Disorder. This year can be worse because of the long-standing stress/anxiety many have felt for most of this year due to the pandemic. Anxiety has a tendency to turn into depression. - Try to get your body moving a bit every day (exercise helps release endorphins) - Try to find one person to talk to each day - Get as much exposure to light... - Keep up with your health appointments (in-person or virtual) because it is a form of self-care - My inbox is always open so feel free to reach out if you need to vent or talk. - Find a little sense of comfort in knowing that this time there's a bunch of people going through the same as you and everyone has limited interaction #seasonalaffectivedisorder #depression #anxiety https://www.cbc.ca//winter-canada-covid-depression-mental-
