Acadia University Virtual Singers 11.10.2021

"Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders Fields."... In honour of Remembrance Day, we are proud to share our recording of a brand new version of "In Flanders Fields" - composed by our wonderful teacher, mentor, and friend, Paula Rockwell - vocalist. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nZAG5HRVPo&feature=youtu.be In the midst of having our own university experiences disrupted by the global pandemic, we especially remember the countless university-aged youths who were called upon to make sacrifices far greater than our own, and whose lives were lost, damaged, or irrevocably changed because of war and violence. Let us honour their memory by bringing an end to war. [Although we used live footage to create visual aspect of this video, the music itself was rehearsed and recorded entirely online, i.e., virtual choir style. Thank you to Historica Canada and to the Archives at the Acadia University Library for providing some of the archival photographs included in this video!]
