Another Bergstrom Skegs Carbide install for a dramatic improvement in handling. Waaay cheaper than aftermarket skis, this solution provides a much bigger improvement than just longer OEM style carbides. The plastic ski savers included with every purchase not only protect the soft plastic ski, but they also push the carbide deeper into the snow AND provide a larger side profile for improved cornering. The shim kit (or new rubber) tips the ski up to even-out longtime carbide wear AND reduce darting and hunting. We are super eager to get testing this product this winter!!!

This are the ski bushings out of a 2018 Ski-Doo Renegade 850. Yet another part that can be pulled out in seconds and would LOVE some grease. These bushings went in the lathe for a polish before getting some grease and then being reinstalled.

We were replacing a damaged A arm on this 2020 Skidoo 850 Owners sled last week and snapped a photo. While doing a great job of managing suspension duties, these arms don't take front impacts very well and should be checked if you contact anything abruptly.

We took the opportunity to measure up the new Yamaha XTX 146 skid in the latest Yamaha Sidewinder and Arctic Cat Thundercat when one was in for set up last week.

This 2020 Yamaha Snowmobiles Sidewinder is getting stronger torsion springs. We find any rider over 180 pounds will benefit from 1 or 2 stronger torsion springs. Measure your sag one day with your gear on and a bunch of snow in the tunnel. Anything over 3" will put you REALLY close to the coupler blocks behind the rear suspension arm.... Hitting the block is NOT pleasant. You are doing yourself no favours in terms of comfort or performance by having an overly soft sled... Just the opposite to be exact. Sleds with this much power can overly squat on throttle and dangerously unweight the skis... which is a problem if you enjoy turning while on the gas that is.

Take a night, drop your skid and your A arms and GREASE THEM. We use a fairly thick grease Nitrolube, on all the fittings without grease fittings so that it resists wash out. Low viscosity grease is good for areas with a grease fitting, but it doesn't last long in spots with no access for regular maintenance. Give Val at Mainway a call if you want to add grease fittings to your machine. This Sidewinder was in for stronger torsion springs (180 pound rider) and a set up, and chassis grease and maintenance is part of the set up.

Due to Covid, we decided to install a customer waiting area for people that come a great distance to see us and wish to wait several hours as we complete their set ups. With winter approaching, Jen decided to tackle the build herself! She's pretty awesome! This will allow our customers to safely stay out of the shop and keep warm while they wait!

We dropped on a nice dual rate spring set onto this Fox Racing centre shock. It will give the rider less inside ski lift AND reduced bottoming.... Win/win!

A quick fall colours shot for our followers. Nothing gets us more excited for snowmobile season than the leaves changing colour. (ok, the smell of two stroke does it too!) Jen, Bear and i took a quick trip up to Algonquin Park, Ontario to do some hiking and check out the beautiful scenery with no bugs. Bear relocated some sticks for the park staff to help out (look at his smile)

This XRS owner is going to give the stock KYB shocks a try and install an Elka Suspension / Accelerated Technologies Dual rate spring set up on the ski and centre shocks. That paired with a limiter strap set to the correct height and the proper torsion springs, with our set up, will have his handling on rails with BOTH skis on the ground this winter!!!

Snowmobile set up season is upon us!!! We are booking appointments for Elka Suspension shock installs and general set ups into November and December already! Give us a shout if you want to bring in your ride and have it converted to how you thought it should handle. This XRS was perched up way too high to get through a corner flat and safely. We installed a dual rate ski spring kit, the right BRP Torsion Springs, an adjustable limiter strap and finished it with a custom set up fine tuned for the owner.

Not a Snowmobile or an ATV, the BRP Spyder is very popular with snowmobilers looking to ride and tour in the summer. Whether they really don't enjoy motorcycles, or can't due to balance, injury, inseam or number of birthdays LOL, the Spyder offers an awesome option. Like its On Snow cousin the Ski-Doo, high quality suspension definitely isn't used to overly inflate the msrp at the dealership. For a dramatic improvement in ride comfort out back, and a similar improvement in handling, safety and stability up front, we install Elka Suspension shocks front and rear. Like in any vehicle, correct spring selection is key to supporting the load properly without bottoming AND, improved damping will do wonders to the enjoyment of any vehicle.

This photo was taken during material evaluation for our new in house designed, cross over spacer for our X pkg Dual rate spring kits. The fatter centre section gives more support, smoother and quieter operation with less friction and makes up for overall length loss when installing Elka Suspension spring combinations onto OEM shocks.

Big thank you to Gateway Powersport & Marine Ltd for helping us out with our annual Ski-Doo Torsion spring order. Don't be fooled, the 'big boy' spring is often not enough for riders over 200#s. We have been working with the BRP race department manual to pick 5 spring options with more rate and often LESS preload to support you at the critical sag without all the energy to extend and bang off the scissor stop when ripping through the whoops! Starting to send out this season's Elka Suspension shock kits for some lucky riders ready for a massive improvement in handling and comfort! This kit is going to a Ski-Doo 2019 MXZx rider. We include an Elka Sport kit (Stage 4 ski and rear shocks and a Stage 2 centre shock) along with our adjustable limiter strap and our recommended BRP Torsion springs. Any rider above 150#s needs to strongly consider an upgraded torsion spring from their Ski Doo dealer. We recommend Gateway Powersport & Marine Ltd or HB Cycle in Central Ontario for our parts. We will be doing a video on proper rear spring selection for our YouTube channel soon.

The rear shock mount on the new 2020.5 / 2021 Ski-Doo Renegade XRS with the R Motion X is taller than the previous Gen 4 R Motion skid which will change shock fitment of the rear arm.
