There's been a lot of attention drawn to squatting in specific joint angles for improved vertical jump performance or enhanced speed development. Cues: staggered stance front foot should bear most of the weight and on the forefoot. Is there 1 core exercise that is the best? No. Has there ever been the best exercise for developing athleticism? No. The truth to full athletic development is always a combination of exercises to get the most out of the athlete. With core strength development, addressing all core strength aspects are in full performance potential. ... The unpredictable nature of football, soccer or any sport for that matter, calls for the core to maintain rigidity and/or to rotate. To simply develop the core in 1 way will not prepare the core for the required sport demands.
